As a mall that has proudly served this community for decades, we value every piece of feedback we receive.

When you share your experiences, concerns, suggestions and ideas, we listen. While we may not always get everything right, we remain committed to improving and providing the best possible experience for our shoppers, tenants and community.

We would like to address a few topics that have recently been discussed.

Firstly, Empangeni Mall has not changed ownership. The Centre remains proudly owned and managed by Artemis Properties, a KwaZulu Natal based property company that owns and manages seven shopping centres throughout the province.

Secondly, we understand the disappointment surrounding Woolworths no longer trading at Empangeni Mall. What many people may not know is that discussions regarding Woolworths' future at the Centre took place long before the new mall opened. We made every effort to retain Woolworths and explored numerous options to keep the store trading from our Centre.

Despite these efforts, Woolworths ultimately made the decision not to continue operating from Empangeni Mall. While we respect their decision, we share the disappointment felt by many members of our community who would have preferred to see Woolworths remain in the heart of Empangeni.

We have also heard concerns regarding our tenant mix, including some of our newer stores. Supporting local businesses and serving the needs of our community has always been important to us. We have engaged with our leasing team and will continue working to attract stores and brands that our shoppers want to see at Empangeni Mall.

We also recognise concerns about the condition of areas surrounding the Centre. While these public areas fall outside of our direct control, we have been actively engaging with the local municipality for many years and will continue advocating for improvements that benefit the wider community.

Although we are not always vocal about it, Empangeni Mall has proudly supported countless community initiatives, charities, schools and local projects over the years, and we will continue to do so.

Most importantly, we remain committed to creating a clean, safe and welcoming shopping experience for everyone who visits our Centre.

Together, we can continue building a mall that Empangeni can be proud of.
