👀 Yesterdays Steenbras mission was A SOLID one‼️ 🎣💪🏼
Had Ryan join me again on his monthly junior guided fishing package (R3000.00 per person a Month for 4 guided fishing sessions, 1 session per week).

Must say these Steenbras are healthy and super fat, one was kind of oddly shaped and NO‼️ not a West coast Steenbras, these are all white Steenbras caught in the mighty Bergrivier estuary.

The biggest one measuring in at 58cm just shy of 60cm, Ryan felt the pure power of this beautiful steam train, pulled the rod FLAT and taking a good amount of line.

🎣 Had Ryan, join me last week Friday for a light tackle Steenbras mission, which turned out to be quite an interesting one.

We managed to land a few Steenbras and in between all the Steenies this beautiful Karp decided to pickup the mudprawn bait👀🐟

Thats the beauty of the Bergrivier system, on some occasions you can hook into a freshwater surprise and strange enough the water was very salty but these fish are so well adapted to the rivers salty conditions.

🎣 Scratching the Bergrivier with the Okuma Invincible spinning rod.

The Bergrivier currents can be very strong, I normally use 8ft setups for my bait fishing applications but sometimes you just have to cast into the deeper zones (further out from the banks) so one has to throw out a bigger sinker for the bait to kind of stay in the zone.
This makes the Okuma Invincible IVCB-S-1062XH special, for the distance and you can easily cast out a 6oz sinker into the deeper zones.

With the incoming tide I normally target the bigger white Steenbras in the deeper channel of the river and on this day got this beautiful white Stumpnose instead, this is a very good sign and also surprising to get them so early this time of the year, looks like the seasons going to be a rearly good one.
