After church today we gathered at the usual spot for the best boontjiesop in the Great Karoo. Made by cook Maryka September with ingredients from a church and meat and soup bones from Karoo Organic Meats on the N12 Victoria West. We added the missing ingredients and Tyeno's Bakery donated bread.

I love the kids turning up with their smart draadkarre! One even had a Venter Trailertjie!

Today the line seemed never ending....!
We had to send someone to the store for more bread and just made it regarding the Brown Onion Soup with sausage, with a dash of Mrs Ball's Peach Chutney.
But.... our lovely dorp was sprused-up at the N12/R63 intersection and the start of the Church Street business precint. Proud of our youngsters and some adults participating.

This week's thick soup was a real Karoo meal!
After a quick trip to our Karoo capital Beaufort West on Saturday morning, we could complete the meal.
A generous donation of VEGETABLES, some homegrown and fresh from the Karoo's fertile soil, and SPRINGBOK !!! meat, made for a sumptuous meal. Our children enjoyed it tremendously!
Thank you to the church who made this possible! 🙏
Even the "croutons" were typical Karoo style:

Our main intersection was cleaned and the street and gutters in front of some businesses too! Sevetal bags of rubbish removed.
We want to be a clean and proud town!
Please come and visit us, you will be overwhelmed by hospitality and a warm welcome.

Sunday Soup Kitchen!
Our team had a lovely beef mince and veggies soup! Secret family recipe!
Thank you for the bread donation!
We cleaned the N12 4-way Stop and in front and opposite Spar, Merino and Popular to welcome you to UBUNTU MUNICIPALITY.
Afterwards we had an 1 hour talk with a group of young girls from Goutrou, grades 5 to 7, to discuss their extraordinary daily challenges.
Child households, absent parents, severe poverty, no school attendance...
We face many social problems.
God Bless these children.
