Q Square, Worcester, South Africa

Q Square, Worcester, South Africa Q Square is an upmarket lifestyle centre offering secure parking on site with the first hour free. Also ATMs representing Nedbank, Standard Bank and ABSA Bank.

We have refurbished and re-branded our commercial complex from Quénet's Arcade to Q Square. The redevelopment commenced in August 2014, and includes a glass roof section over the old section of the arcade from the High Street entrance and the pergola section of the Stockenstroom Street entrance. Re-tiling and cladding of the walls and columns, and new shop fronts. Both the High Street and Stockens

tröm Street entrances now include an architectural designed perforated metallic, modern cube-like structure to highlight the entrances. Part of our overall vision has been to include artists from the Worcester and Breede River Valley, and further afield and hence we have included sculpture art works of Bill Davis, Jaco Sieberhagen, Marius Jansen Van Vuuren and CP Wessels, which is in keeping with the "art-walk theme" of the complex, together with a polished steel canopy which reflects shoppers walking underneath together with water features. We have expanded the tenant mix by including a superior SPAR Supermarket and TOPS at SPAR liquor outlet. The first 4 star green banking facility building for Standard Bank, Nedbank relocated their retailing banking outlet and their business banking to Q Square. Some of the financial services companies who are based at Q Square are Sanlam, Old Mutual, Santam, FNB, Metropolitan Life, Assupol and Hollard Insurance and Optimum Financial Services, to mention a few. Quènets Hunting and Fishing, The Local Choice Pharmacy Quénet's and Quènets Photo Lab have revamped their retail offerings. Speciality shops add a touch of unique ambience to the open air lifestyle centre. Q Square has a unique food lifestyle offering with Cafè Hugo and their Boutique Roastery, Daly Bread Artisan Bakery and Deli, The Hussar Grill and Beluchi's Woodfired Artisan Pizzas. Q Square offers safe and secure on-site access controlled parking for visitors with the first hour free. We have completed the next phase of the redevelopment of Q Square allowing for ground floor retail, fronting onto “Brick Lane” and Baring Street, which overlooks Church Square, with pedestrian access from both Baring Street and Church Street. Included is a restaurant strip which provide customers with outside seating onto “Brick Lane”. We have also included a “Water in Motion” walk, which features two new fountains and three ponds to add to the open spaces experience we have developed at Q Square. Jaco Sieberhagen’s 3.5 meter tall “Worcester Heritage Tree ” art piece and Marius Jansen Van Vuuren’s “Incoherence” art wall panel of 40 Tok-Tokkie Beetles were commissioned by Q Square. Development plans to upgrade Church Square, similar to that of Green Point Park in Cape Town are being investigated. The Worcester architectural building heritage route starts at Q Square, together with a detailed heritage route map having been erected at Q Square next to Daly Bread.
