It’s all about smashing stereotypes and looking sharp

The ride was created to challenge the negative stereotype of motorcyclists while raising money for men’s health. The rule is simple: dress like a gent, ride café racers, bobbers, classics and retro bikes, and keep the vibe dapper and friendly. You’ll see everything from Triumph Bonnevilles to CBR125s with riders in suits and even kilts

Aussies punch way above their weight on fundraising

Despite having a smaller population, Australia consistently ranks among the top fundraising countries. In 2022, Australian riders raised over $1 million AUD, and in 2023 more than 6000 riders across 38 cities raised over $1.2 million AUD. Wollong even beat out cities like London and New York to become the 2nd highest fundraising city globally in 2021.

How the day started

Sun’s up, engine’s cold, and the plan’s already in motion 🏍️

Today the Siziba came out for a spin. For those who don’t know, the Siziba is the traditional Lozi outfit from Western Zambia - bold, handwoven, and made for standing out. It’s riding with me on the ZX1400, heading to the DGR 2026 event in Perth. Bit of Zambian heritage meeting Kawasaki raw power on the streets of Perth. Can’t think of a better way to do it.

Quick nod to why we’re all suited up: The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride started in 2012 in Sydney as a tongue-in-cheek protest against the bland image of motorcyclists. Guys dressed in dapper suits and rode classic and vintage-style bikes to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer. What began with 2,500 riders in 64 cities is now a global event with over 100,000 riders across 100+ countries every year.

All dressed up, raising funds, and breaking the stigma one ride at a time.
