ZAMBIA LET’S HAVE A CONVERSATION ON R**E
• A grown man sexually assaulted a 9 year old child. This man happens to be her biological father. And this child unfortunately, happens to be undergoing chemotherapy at the cancer diseases hospital. Tell me how you blame dress code and not the man?

• A 5 year old child was sexually assaulted by 4 grown men in Mutendere. These are people who decided to take her into an abandoned building and took turns defiling her. They also threatened to end her life if she spoke of this! A FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD.

•Dear Zambians, here is a response to my rants on Facebook from a man. He is saying women are to share the blame for everything happening to the girl child in Zambia. He explains that grown women aren’t good role models and some of them dress up their young girls in sexy clothing. He even goes as far as saying “You are responsible”..

• I would like to categorically state that I’m grateful that I can use this very response to enlighten many of you ra**st sympathizers & apologists! I’d also like to state that even if I’m extremely hurt and disappointed in these sentiments, this serves as an opportunity for us as a nation to get rid of this dangerous perception that WOMEN & MOTHERS are the ones responsible for the safety of children especially the girl child.

• LET THIS BE KNOWN: All grown adults are responsible for the safety of any child in our society. Meaning that children are supposed to be protected by adults and not harmed. In the absence of women or mothers, every child should be protected by grown adults. I hope that is clear.

• As far as “Sexy clothes, social behavior and interactions” are concerned, nothing a child wears or does should be regarded worthy of attracting sexual advances from grown adults. We can discuss morality all we want but there’s many ways to deal with that without sexualizing children or blaming it on their mother’s absence, behavior or women in general. CHILDREN MUST NOT BE SEXUALIZED for any reason at all. So if you speak like this, it’s either you are a sexual predator or soon to be. This is a very dangerous mentality to have or entertain. No child near people who think this way are safe!

Women and men, mothers and fathers, all grown adults, it’s our responsibility to protect ALL children in our society. Whether they are ours or not!
