Are you a writer or aspiring to be one? Please read this extract from my latest manuscript "Wars in the Bible: Lessons for today" and let me know of your thoughts below.

It took God to ensure the battle of Rephidim was recorded by Moses. When we have done a stellar job with the sword, we should exercise the same prowess with the pen.

Exodus 17:13-14 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. And Jehovah said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.

While it is good to know who fought so well and ‘discomfited’ the enemy, the rest of the people will benefit more from the one who would chronicle the events of the day. Maybe it is high time we celebrate our authors like our soldiers. They are the latter heroes and heroines of the story. They come when it is all over, resurrect the dead characters only to kill them with precision. Their pens turn mortals into larger-than-life heroes and immortalize their deeds on the wings of time. A country that celebrates its authors as much as it celebrates its war veterans is destined for greatness.
