So excited to show you these pants that I didn't even iron them or style them into an outfit. Straight out of the box from Japan, five pairs, handmade from vintage cotton fabrics (yukata and tenugui). Each has an outer pocket and an elastic waist that is both adjustable and replaceable. I'm a size 12-14 and they fit perfectly but would suit a size both sides. Come in to the shop to try or shout out if you'd like me to post you a pair ($120ea + $12 post).

Bag of the week: I used to use these wooden bag frames to make a perfectly circular bag, which was adorable but didn't fit a phone ... Enter the cheekier big sister, designed with a similar pleasing (I think) roundness and with an internal pocket for the indispensable device.

The fabrics I've used on this one are vintage (1950s-70s) kimino fabrics. They are really flourescent colours that I can never capture on camera.

I have a feeling I'll be making more in this shape, but this crane + asanoha (star/hemp leaf pattern) fabric combo is a one-off.

The strawberry mugs I previously had in the shop were on the small side but these are a decent 270ml (so the pleasure lasts longer).

I imagine this 1960s Japanese paper doll sheet hanging in the bo***ir of a woman who loves fabulous clothes and experimenting with them, and isn't afraid to be different or overdressed. She adores colour of course!

Some things ARE too good to be used, but it doesn't mean they should be hidden away at the back of a drawer.

Changing up the window is one of the shop jobs I often delay. The neighbours will attest that I spend ages standing outside and then ducking back in to make adjustments. It's very satisfying when it's done though. Very Japanese focused this time. I had the denim jacket from Sydney designer and maker Natalija Rushidi The Label in there but it sold straight away! I only have one of many of the items in the shop, or only one in each size, so if you love it don't dally.
