Every order that leaves here has a person behind it.

This is a normal morning at Murphy Street. Orders getting checked, stock getting picked, someone on the phone working out whether a customer needs a bigger kit or just the refills they forgot to add.

That part does not show up on a website. You can order online at 11pm and never speak to us, which is completely fine. But when a school needs to know what it is actually required to hold, or a business has an audit coming and no idea where to start, there is someone here who will pick up the phone and talk it through properly.

That kit has lived in the truck for years. When did anyone last open it?

Vehicle kits cop the worst of it. Heat, dust, and a tray that gets ignored right up until something goes wrong. Dressings perish, tape loses its grip, and eye wash carries a use by date like everything else in there.

Five minutes this week is enough. Open it, check the dates, note what has been used and never replaced, and ask whether the kit actually matches the work being done. A kit sized for an office is not the kit for a crew on the road.

Packing a kit at our East Bendigo warehouse. Every item placed by hand, checked against the list, checked again before it's sealed. Bandages, splints, eye wash, sharps container, the lot.

Just our team, on Murphy Street, putting together the kit that might end up being the most important box in someone's workplace.

It takes a bit longer doing it this way. We think it's worth it.

That's Glenn, and that's the van that's probably been past your workplace at some point.

Most days he's out doing on site audit and restocking runs. Checking what's been used, topping up what's low, swapping out anything that's hit its expiry. It's the unglamorous part of first aid and it's the part that actually matters, because a kit is only as good as what's still in it.

Most Australian schools have the kits. What they don't have is the audit trail.

Ask for the inspection log, the date of the last refill, and the names of currently certified first aiders. The gap between "we're compliant" and "we can prove it" usually shows up in about 90 seconds.

School first aid sits across two regimes: your state education department for student welfare and kits, plus Safe Work Australia's Code of Practice, because a school is also a workplace. Between them they set the expectation for documented risk assessment, first aider coverage, and audit-ready records.
