MAX’S HOT PICK: Madagascan Petrified Wood
Wood that turned to stone. Over 200 million years ago these were living trees, buried under sediment. Mineral-rich groundwater slowly replaced the wood with silica, cell by cell, until it was solid stone. Look closely and the original grain and growth rings are still right there.
It’s the stone of transformation — proof that change doesn’t have to mean losing what you were. Something of the original stays while it becomes something entirely new.
Come see it in person. These pieces photograph well, but they’re even better in your hands.
