MAX’S HOT PICK: Madagascan Petrified Wood

Wood that turned to stone. Over 200 million years ago these were living trees, buried under sediment. Mineral-rich groundwater slowly replaced the wood with silica, cell by cell, until it was solid stone. Look closely and the original grain and growth rings are still right there.

It’s the stone of transformation — proof that change doesn’t have to mean losing what you were. Something of the original stays while it becomes something entirely new.
Come see it in person. These pieces photograph well, but they’re even better in your hands.

Max’s hot tips!
Curious about how to use a pendulum?

In this short video I’ll show you the simple method I use — there are plenty of approaches out there, but this one is easy, straightforward and a great place to start.

We’ll begin by asking the pendulum to show us a YES and a NO, then put it to work with a few simple yes-or-no questions.

No pendulum yet? We’ve got a wall of them in store — come in and let one choose you. 🔮

📍 42 Dale Place, Orange Grove, Perth WA
🕙 Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 10am–4pm
Other times by appointment

What are the questions you would ask yours?

Max here. Come take a walk through the shop with me — I know where the good stuff is.

If it’s been a minute since some of you have been in, and there’s plenty that’s new. Fossils, rose quartz carvings, amethyst caves you can practically climb into, and a fresh run of sterling silver.
Come have a wander. I’ll show you around.

MAX’S PICK OF THE WEEK 🖤
The Guardian — Western Australian Black Tourmaline

Some crystals sparkle. Others just command respect.
Black Tourmaline — schorl, if you want the proper name — is the iron-rich end of the tourmaline family, and it doesn’t do subtle. Formed deep within WA’s ancient pegmatites, these bold striated crystals have been sitting quietly beneath our feet since long before anything walked above them.
Max picked this one for the striations. Run your thumb along the length of a good piece and you can feel every ridge — that’s the crystal’s growth history, written into the surface.

Spiritually, Black Tourmaline is often associated with grounding, protection and emotional balance — a reminder to stay steady when life gets noisy.
A timeless piece of Australia’s ancient story. 🇦🇺

Open every Friday Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm
Came say G’day!

This week’s pick from Mama Sox — Titanium Aura Quartz.

It starts life as ordinary clear Quartz, then gets bonded with vaporised titanium under high heat. A permanent fusion, not a coating, so it won’t rub off or fade. The rainbow metallic sheen is entirely man-made. The crystal underneath is entirely natural.

Metaphysically it’s linked to confidence, creativity and lifting a low mood.
Whether you’re here for the chemistry or just the shine — come see it in person.

Some of the oldest life on Earth.
Every oncolite is the work of cyanobacteria — the same kind of microscopic life that first breathed oxygen into our atmosphere, billions of years ago. In warm, shallow seas, these tiny colonies trapped grains of sand and mineral, coating them layer by layer over countless generations.
Rolled gently across the seafloor by the tides, each sphere grew one thin ring at a time — slowly building the concentric patterns you can still see in the stone today.

Come find yours in store — rough and polished oncolites, each one a chapter of Earth’s deep past.

📍 Open Fri, Sat & Sun · 10am–4pm

Golden Amphibolite — and it genuinely sparkles like it’s lit from inside.

This one comes straight from the Pilbara in Western Australia, one of the oldest exposed landscapes on Earth. That golden shimmer? Not paint, not coating — natural mineral inclusions formed deep in the rock over billions of years. Every piece is a little fragment of the forces that shaped the planet.
Many people also link it to the solar plexus chakra — confidence, motivation, drive, and going after your goals. Whether you’re here for the geology or the meaning, it carries both.
