What a difference a few months makes 👷

Early this year, Stony Rise Village was a cleared block of red dirt.

By June, the building pad was ready.

In August, the precast walls started going up.

This month, all the precast walls are done, most of the steel roof frame is up and the first roof sheeting is on. The rest of the walls will be built in brick.

Quick update from site 👷

All the precast concrete walls are now up. The rest of the walls will be built in brick.

Roof sheeting has started going on too, and the steel frame is up over most of the building.

Lots still to do, but we’re getting there.

The votes are in, and Devonport has chosen! 🎨

With 683 votes and a clear winner in both categories, we’ve closed voting a few days early. Thank you to everyone who helped choose the artwork for the carpark shade sails.

Two Tasmanian artists have each created two designs. We’ll use one from each, and YOUR vote decides which.

Allan Mansell (Black Ant Art) is a Plangermaireenier artist whose work tells stories of land, sea and the creatures in them.

Trading: footprints leading to the port of Devonport.
Gathering of Food: the Devonport lagoon and the wildlife it supports.

Adele Auchterlonie paints memory maps. Earlier this year we asked you to share your memories of Devonport, and she used them to create her designs.

Life Along the Mersey: from Bluff Beach and the lighthouse to the Spirit of Tasmania.
Somewhere Familiar: the Don River track, the old railway and the bush.

Meet Tom O’Hern – the artist designing the wallpaper for our Parents Room at Stony Rise Village.

Some of you might know Tom’s work from in Kingston, where he designed the wallpaper for our parents’ bathroom. We’re excited to have him back for Devonport.

Tom is a Tasmanian artist based in Moonah, known for his playful, bold and sometimes cheeky style.

His work has appeared in public toilets, alleyways, galleries, museums and festivals across Australia and overseas.

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) from the University of Tasmania, and has completed residencies in France, China, Hobart and Queenstown.

Tom is now working on design concepts for Stony Rise Village. Once they’re ready, we’ll share them here.

Meet James – the guy helping bring Stony Rise Village to life!

Originally from NZ, James is our Senior Development Manager and he’s leading the charge on the delivery of your new shopping centre.

He’s the one making sure all the moving parts—from builders and architects to budgets and timelines—come together smoothly. Right now, James is working closely with the on-site team to keep construction on track.

He’s also helping shape what you’ll see when the centre opens—working with leasing agents to bring in a great mix of shops, services, and places you’ll love to visit.

Before landing in Australia, James worked in property development across NZ and the UK. Now, he’s loving the chance to be part of something big right here.

Outside of work, James is all about tennis and a good pub session on the weekend.

Milestone day at Stony Rise Village. 🏗️

The rest of the walls will be built in brick, so that's the next stage to watch for.
