Big things are happening at Stony Rise Village! 🏗️

The mobile crane is onsite and making its way through the precast panels, with 30 now in place and around 150 still to go.

Some of the bigger panels weigh a massive 16 tonnes, or 16,000 kg. Each one is carefully lowered onto its footing and held in place with temporary props until the structural steel goes in.

You can also spot a couple of workers near the bottom of the photo, which gives you a pretty good idea of just how big the footings are.

Little sneak peek of what's ahead 🎨

The shade sails in our carpark aren't just going to be shade — we're turning them into public art.

And the best part? You'll get to vote on the design.

We did the same thing at Spring Farm Village, our centre down in Kingston, and the community picked an absolute winner. So Devonport, you're up next.

No designs or dates just yet — we just couldn't keep it to ourselves.

Construction Update 🚧

Despite heavy rains the Fairbrother team are forging ahead with the first pre-cast panels being lifted into place.

We have also received our first order of Mass Blocks (grey blocks) which will be used to retain the perimeter of the site.

Here's a look at what your future childcare could look like...

This is the Green Leaves Early Learning centre we've just completed at Howrah — think sensory star ceilings ✨ a cubby house with its own little bridge, and shaded outdoor spaces made for tiny explorers.

And the best part? Green Leaves is coming to Stony Rise Village too. Same operator, same standard — right here in Devonport.

We don't normally ask, but this one's worth it. ❤️

We don't often jump in and ask our community to go vote for something — but Beacon Foundation is close to our hearts, so we're making an exception.

We've seen what they do for young Tasmanians up close: building confidence, real skills, and connections that genuinely change where a kid can end up.

Right now they're up for a $25,000 grant through the MyState Foundation Community Choice Award, decided by public vote. The grant would fund a statewide competition where young Tassie kids pitch their own ideas to tackle real problems in their communities — exactly the kind of thing we love getting behind.
There are some genuinely great organisations in the running, so have a look at them all — but if Beacon speaks to you too, a vote takes about 30 seconds and it's completely free. 👇

🚧 STONY RISE VILLAGE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Earthworks and basecourse are pushing closer to the site boundaries, bringing this major stage of works closer to completion. Strip footings are continuing across the building footprint, while manholes and the first underground services are now being installed.

Plenty happening on the ground — and even more to come.

Stony Rise Village construction update! 🏗️

Fairbrother is making steady progress — foundation basecourse is underway ahead of the concrete slab pour, strip footings are being installed for the precast concrete panels, and all piping is already staged onsite.

Bit by bit, it's all coming together. Stay tuned for more updates as we build towards something great for the community. 🙌
