DIY storage basket with handles 😱

When I designed this basket, I started with a 6ā€ wooden base, some 4mm cord, and a rough knot pattern in mind.

Originally, I thought it would turn into a small 6ā€ā€“7ā€ basket… but once I started attaching the cords and knotting row by row, it slowly began growing wider and wider.

The final result? A whopping 9ā€ basket, the perfect size for storing all kinds of household items.

And if you want to make an even larger version, you absolutely can!! Just start with a bigger wooden base, since this pattern easily transfers into a larger basket design.

OK, real talk. What would YOU use this basket for?!

And how lovely is this basket I recently made?! 🄰

You all know I love macrame but functional macrame is especially up there!

Storage baskets are essential in my home and even more so now with kids.

There are so many things you can store in them… you could probably use a few in every room in your house!

This basket was a fun reminder that macrame can be both beautiful and practical.

Also look at that diagonal texture?! I’m kinda obsessed with this intricate knot pattern that required no use of double half hitch knots.

It’s sturdy, it’s beaaautiful and it’s not difficult to make. Want to give it a try?

The step by step pattern tutorial is now available with a membership on Patreon or for individual purchase (Patreon link in bio).

Now what would you store in this beautiful 9ā€ basket?!

Swipe for the back ā¬…ļø

I looove how this Jean jacket turned out!

To cap off fashion week in April, I made this macrame pattern add on, onto a Jean jacket I previously bought just for this purpose.

And if you’re thinking this pattern looks a little familiar, you are totally right because I remixed a wall hanging pattern I made before into this Jean jacket.

So while the knot pattern itself isn’t new, it’s a whole new vibe on a Jean jacket.

If you’re interested in the process of how I transformed the wall hanging pattern into a Jean jacket, I walk through the entire design process from calculating cord lengths to the number of sections required.

This pattern remix tutorial is now live on Patreon!

I think the fringe is a tad bit long though. Should I trim it down a little more? What do you think?

The easiest jewelry set you’ll make… and it only takes one knot ✨

When I first started experimenting with this, I kept thinking it needed to be more complicated…

More knots, more steps, more something.

But it didn’t.

This is your reminder that sometimes the most beautiful pieces come from keeping things simple šŸ¤

With just a barrel knot, you can create both a bracelet and earrings that feel textured, elevated, and completely wearable.

Just one knot… used differently.

If you’ve been wanting to get into macrame jewelry, this is such a good place to start.
