After being forced to flee their home because of the conflict in Ukraine, Sasha and her family rebuilt their lives in a new community with very few belongings. Through MCC partner Association of Mennonite Brethren Churches of Ukraine (AMBCU), they received essential support, including canned meat and warm comforters to help them through a difficult winter. 💙🕊️

For families facing displacement and uncertainty, this assistance provides comfort, nourishment and hope.

A farmers' group in South Sudan transformed their harvests after learning climate-resilient farming techniques through MCC partner ACROSS (Association of Christian Resource Organizations Serving Sudan). What started with skepticism has grown into stronger harvests, new crops and greater food security for families in their community.

Looking for upcycling inspiration? ♻️

Start at the MCC Clothes Basket thrift shop.

When a donated bookcase arrived at the shop in less-than-stable condition, shop manager Sheryl saw an opportunity to give it a second life. Volunteer Lloyd took on the challenge and transformed the bookcase into not one, not two, but four beautiful end tables. 🔨

Two of the tables were sold at the Family Festival, proving that a little creativity can go a long way in turning secondhand materials into something both practical and beautiful.

Happy National Thrift Shop Day! ♻️🛍️

Today we're celebrating the many donors, volunteers, shoppers and staff who make MCC Thrift more than just a thrift shop network. 🤝

From coast to coast to coast, every thrifted purchase helps extend the life of quality items while supporting MCC's work around the world.

If your local MCC Thrift shop is open today, stop in and celebrate with us. If your shop isn't open on August 17, we'd love for you to join the celebration any day this week.
