Through MCC’s partner, the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST), 34,000 meals are being shared with people living in collective shelters in Lebanon’s Bekaa and Baalbek-Hermel regions. These meals help parents feed their children without risking a return home or going into debt just to cook.

This work is possible because of you. Every thrift purchase, donation and volunteer hour at MCC Thrift helps support life‑sustaining initiatives like this during times of crisis. 💚

Janel White's story with Warman MCC Thrift began in 2022, inspired by her grandma who volunteered at the old shop in Warman, Saskatchewan. She started by volunteering alongside her and quickly found herself wanting to keep coming back.

Today, Janel is often at the front cash, where she loves connecting with regulars, catching up on their lives and building real community. “I love just being with the people,” she says. “That’s what I enjoy most.”

Her warmth shone through in our chat with her, and her love for the Warman MCC Thrift shop was clear.

We’re so grateful for volunteers like Janel who show up and help make our shops feel like home. 🏡

Looking for a creative way to refresh your space? Port MCC Thrift shop in Ontario has an idea for you! 🎨
 
Head to your local MCC Thrift shop, find a picture frame, add some fabric and create one-of-a-kind wall art. Or, add a cork board backing to design a bulletin board that is both beautiful and functional. 📌 Sometimes, a little creativity goes a long way.
