Canadian Independent Bookstore Day 2026 was one the most joyous, exciting, communal, lovely and memorable days at Bookmark Halifax. Thank you to everyone who participated in person, online and in spirit, with warm greetings passed along for weeks before the day itself. We are so fortunate, on .... or any day.

The Spin to Win Wheel total this year was $2645 in donations to Feed Nova Scotia. Not to forget, cash donations from the sale of the 'literary scrunchies' and other crafts provided by our dear friend continue for the food bank. Thank you for those beautifully designed wearables, LB!
To The Canadian Independent Bookstore Association, we owe a huge debt of gratitude. The work you've put into making this day a true national event for all book lovers is tremendous. has become such a unifying force in all our communities across Canada, we are forever appreciative.
A massive thank you to the publishers who provided wonderful items in our giveaways, our amazing 2026 Bookstore Ambassador, Luke Hathaway, for once again sending us a Golden Ticket ...... and to the great readers and friends we met on Saturday and those we see everyday, we've been so happy and successful on Spring Garden Road for the past 37 years largely because of you!
