I like to share this every summer as a reminder. Be kind.

Friendly reminder: don’t be like these people!

Bears you see in the wild are wild animals and walking up to them to take a picture or a video is always a bad idea!

And when I called they had ‘no idea how that happened.’

Apparently the seat had been assigned to someone else and there was nothing they could do about it and told me to try talking to the gate agent.

Like what?!?

I always pay extra to book my seats because I like to know where we are sitting and ensure we are all sitting together.

Has this ever happened to you before because this is the first time it’s ever happened to me!

I have learned that there is no hiding. My kid has mom-seeking-radar.

As expected he got a hold of the mic and wouldn’t let it go. He introduced himself and told everyone that he’s an ‘amazing horror artist’ and would have kept going from there if the tour guide hadn’t taken the mic back from him.

Admittedly it could have been much worse!

Did you know that bodies of water named after people, royalty, or titles put ‘Lake’ first and lakes named after descriptive traits or geography place ‘Lake’ second?

Today we visited Lake Louise, Emerald Lake and Moraine Lake and the fact that there isn’t a standard naming convention for all lakes never ceases to amaze me.

I mean the rules make sense and honestly, if you say the names in reverse they always sound weird but I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve heard the names the proper way for so long or because it really does sound strange to reverse them.

By the time we were leaving the crowds were arriving but at 8:30am? We pretty much had the place to ourselves.

This is Sulphur Mountain Gondola and it’s one of the ‘must do’ activities in Banff and for good reason. The ride up the mountain is a ton of fun and the views are incredible.

But, like with anything that’s popular, the further into the day you get the heavier the crowds become.

So, if you’re a morning person, take advantage of that and book an early time slot and enjoy a slightly quieter visit to an incredibly beautiful spot.

That had a fresh pizza in it!!!

In fact, the reason why the dragonfly almost got into your house was because you had opened up the door for a pizza delivery 🫣.

Thankfully it was mostly fine 😆

What is the most random thing your kid has done at at theme park?

Whatever it is, I’ll see that and raise you washing his hair in Diagon Alley in Universal Studios.

Memories can be very selective and sometimes an old memory can override a new memory if it’s strong enough.

Rides are a funny thing. They create so much sensory input and can have such a profound impact on the body that they often create very vivid memories. You might not remember every turn and drop but you’ll remember how you felt.

And every time you ride can leave you walking away with a different feeling depending on any number of factors. The weather, they day you’re having, your mood and even how long you had to wait can change how you feel about the ride.

Something like a glitch or breakdown can cause a very vivid memory.

So, if you have a child that can go hot and cold on different experiences depending on their mood try keeping a happy picture of them after getting off the ride handy in case they need a reminder that this is actually fun.

This doesn’t mean you need to force them or coerce them to ride.

If it’s still a no, it’s still a no.

This just gives them a chance to reevaluate their choice before waiting on the sidelines.
