Interesting Day, fall is here,can feel it, getting darker sooner, leaves falling, some geese heading south...Got a lovely Dutch Gazelle to work as attended and our client is delighted. we threw in the faux shearling seat cover (donated by Jay Gee) and a vintage pump..Martina had a long ride on her revamped bike today!
I am working on a serious vintage rebuild and came upon a problem, the owner was spending a bunch of money on a mechanical restoration which made no sense unless he had the frame and fork re painted/powdercoated, he went for the idea and takes the frame to Flashfire Powdercoaters in Courtice tomorrow morning...Gonna be nice!
Finally after 45 or so days we sold Steven Steven Leaks DeVinci road bike..It is going to a man who owns the same frame and loves it, thanks to all parties...
Rickshaw was good to get the needed B**r Yoga supplies today!

Does anyone else have thoughts about the neglected T Wharf beside the Art Gallery of Peterborough. I'm gathering facts, bits of information on the History of this Dock. I remember clearly many more people using it in the past for fishing, kayak and canoeing and swimming. Did you know the city sweeps the various f***s into the lake when they are asked to clean if for a special event like the lighting of Fireworks past August 1 I believe and then again for a Peace Vigil on August 6...Not sure sweeping the f***s into Little lake contributes to the overall water quality of the lake and the swimmers health at Beavermead and Rogers Cove.
Please, lend me your thoughts and ideas...Is it possible the New Development at that corner includes a new idea for the T Wharf, maybe a new idea for the geese, which is a touchy subject!

Bit earlier around 1: 25 I was at One City/Trinity where Lorraine received a bike I worked on that a man named Jason dropped off, she was delighted, said, 'You don't know how much that bike will help on a day to day basis!" Front Fender from the Wasboard Hank donated single speed.

Last Saturday in August...we look forward to greeting new students to the area, sharing our bikes and information with them..I wonder what crop this year will produce...Kept moving today, along with company, the little man was a fixture then his pops after work. Charles walks more than he crawls and is very adept at timing his movements to coincide with an object, be it a chair or the stroller, always a smile and our encoragement. To get the day started we push our recent builds into the driveway (our showroom) for one and all to see.
Early on a couple took the Norco Reactor for a spin, they loved it, Paid in Hard Cash the waywe like it!...
Saturdays can be slow, that's OK as I am as well..Two women came by, one holding a 26 inch rim with a flat tire, she was the Home Ec teacher from PCVS back in the day, lovely woman, I put a new tube in it, problem solved....
On Facebook this morning I chatted with Libby who inquired about a 'back to school tune up' on her 30 year old Rocky Mountain Soul..The bike was/is in good repair just needed some minor alterations, change pedals, add a reflector and sassy bell, it's ready for pick up but don't tell her till tomorrow!
Thanks to everyone who helps this shop survive. A man named Jason left a be**er blue cruiser rust bucket this week to donate. I almost laughed but held back..When i get in donor mood i can cover a lot of ground in a short period of time and The Blue bikes is now blue and Red as we put Washboard Hank Hanks front fender on it, to complete the look, replaced the chain and the seat post and the handlebar, gallon or so of silver paint an old pink bell...Wonder what lucky soul at Trinity will get this tomorrow?
Photo of our friend Crazy Larry from Friday after he was fishing at the T Wharf covered in geese sh*t..Come on to peterborough, bring your canoe park it at the T Wharf and get covered in crap...Come on Parks and Rec department, and don't be spraying the f***s into the lake like on recent clean ups...I now have a reason to call my representative and ask them if this is an issue they are interested in!

This early 90s Norco Mountain Series bike. Dave asked us to rebuild it as it was his dads, lots of sentimental value. I told him it would be expensive $150. He said go ahead. It took the Lumpy bikes Shop a shift and a half to do the work.
We cleaned and degreased the bike, took half an hour, used professional degreasers and lots of patient elbow grease.
26" tires were replaced,
both gear cables were replaced,
a kickstand was supplied and installed,
both bicycle rim hubs were greased,
the head set was greased,
the bottom bracket was greased,
periodically we would would stop to spray paint areas,
The crank was painted,
The brake calipers were painted,
the brake pads wee filed,
a fresh saddle a Norco was supplied and installed,
all areas were inspected and oiled.
Customer was happy with the work and we were happy to do it. this is what we do, build bikes!

Catfish Willie all duked up this morning getting some supplies, very dapper! GrandDaughter and Grand Dad at the shop today for some warranty work! Pictures of two similarly coloured Blue Bikes, both donors. We donated the small one today! What my ride on Bethune Street showed me today, crying shame, was lots of open air use going on....

Back to Work today, shop hours are Wed to Sat 1-6, Sun Mon Tues 4-6 only by appointment....By the end of the day the leg was pretty sore... the girls pampered me with fresh salmon skewers, red w**e and salad....
Steph bought a ladies bike today, I think she loves it, was hungry around 2 30 so Chris went and got us some Whopper Wednedays, mine came with a hat! Plugged away on a Norco Mountain Bike, took an older early 90s Norco in for a full rebuild and finishedwork On a Norco Malahat ladies Hybrid in fine condition size 17" inch of Medium in bike Jargon..CCM Dave dropped by with a couple of bevvies for B**r Yoga and he had an interesting set of screw drivers given out by CCM back in the day if you were a good boy or girl..Anyone know the age of these and the history would be appreciated..
