Some weddings stay with you forever. Iva and Matteo’s will always be one of them. 🤍
For July 4, I flew back to British Columbia two months after moving to Alberta to coordinate the wedding we had spent nearly a year planning and bringing to life together.
During that year, I helped plan every piece of their day: managing more than 20 vendors, creating mock-ups, building their wedding website, developing the complete day-of timeline, and preparing scripts and detailed plans for the ceremony, MC, DJ, and every important moment in between. I also supplied décor and stepped into whatever role was needed to make their vision possible.
And sometimes, no matter how carefully a wedding is planned, the unexpected still happens.
Believe it or not, the beautiful two-tier cake you’ll see in this video originally arrived as a three-tier cake. After the cake was nearly involved in a rear-end collision on its way to the venue, the cake maker told me only five minutes before it was supposed to come out that we would need to rebuild it.
So we pivoted.
Because that is what wedding coordination truly is. It isn’t only creating beautiful timelines and making sure everything is in its place. It is staying calm when something goes wrong, finding a solution quickly, and protecting the couple from unnecessary stress so they can remain fully present.
Iva would often tell me at the end of our long planning calls how much stress I had taken off her shoulders. That meant everything to me because I never take a couple’s trust lightly.
A wedding is more than a beautiful event. It is a sacred commitment and a day that can never be repeated. My couples invest so much of their hearts, time, and money into this one day and I feel the weight and privilege of making sure it all comes together.
On their wedding day, Iva and Matteo had a much more important job than answering vendor questions, watching the clock, solving problems, or checking whether every detail was in place.
Their job was to be present.
To stand at the centre of it all.
To make their vows.
To celebrate with the people they love.
And to experience every moment of the day they had waited so long for.
My job was to protect that experience and I gave them everything I had.
Iva and Matteo, thank you for trusting me with your vision, your wedding, and such an important chapter of your lives. Your day was romantic, meaningful, breathtakingly beautiful, and filled with thoughtful details that were completely your own.
It was an honour to help bring it to life. 🤍
Thank you to their incredibly loving family and friends for celebrating it so joyfully and to Iva and Matteo for allowing me to share this special glimpse into their day.
