Our second custom Handmade Getaway for 2026 is happening this weekend! Organized by members of our online studio we are excited to host this group for an in-person gathering. Nine makers, a historic general store sewing studio, and three days of meals made from scratch at Santosha Organic Farm down the road - a dream getaway!
This is exactly what we hoped for when we moved to Sprucedale.
If you have a group of maker friends and you've been thinking about a weekend like this, the Handmade Getaway is bookable for 2026. You choose the dates, we handle everything else. Add a Thursday Evening Early Arrival to your weekend and start sewing sooner!

Inspired by storybooks and summers spent chasing critters, each Keeper Bear from Kiriki Press watches over something small and precious. With pre-cut, screen-printed pieces and clear instructions, you can dive straight into the joy of embroidery and appliqué.
Everything inside is thoughtfully prepared, making them such a satisfying project whether you’re new to embroidery or just want something cozy and complete to sink into.
We’ve received a restock of our favourite embroidery kits and samplers from Kiriki Press on the weekend, including the much-loved felt Bloombear Kits. Pick one up for some quite backyard or lakeside stitching.

We're thrilled to bring Capstone Pattern Co. into the shop! Some of you may have had a chance to meet Laura, (at our 17th Anniversary Celebrations several years ago) the designer behind these "thoughtfully designed, timeless, easy-to-follow sewing patterns for modern-day makers."
These designs share the belief that where ever you are on your sewing journey the clothes you make should be an exploration of style, comfort and feel rewarding. We've brought in the Juniper Tank and Hemlock Top & Dress patterns in two size range options so sewists can work towards their desired fit.

There were some last minute additions to the Merchant & Mills preorder on the final day - Red Baby Bow Scissors, Goldie Jacquard and Sea Holly Linen. A few lucky folks snapped up these pieces before we closed the Community Preorder on Sunday.
Now that the delivery has shipped out, we've update all the Merchant & Mills preorder items with some additional availability. Don't miss out if you had second thoughts about one of the Jacquards, the Bobbette Cross Stitch Cottons or the pretty Linens, there's a small amount left for almost everything.
