This summer we hosted our Flower Branch Embroidery Quilt Sew Along and it was an amazing opportunity to learn together. Participants have started to share their quilts in progress as well as a few finished quilt tops! Everyone is doing such an amazing job!
The quilt kits and bundles sold out quickly however we were able to get a hold of just a few more of the Tilda Chambray fat quarter bundles and they are currently available for preorder. This 28 piece bundle was the basis for our Flower Branch Embroidery Quilt Kit and if you've been wanting to make your own, definitely snap up one of these bundles while they last. This particular version has been discontinued, so they won't be available much longer from our supplier.
We also have a few of the Grid Guide : Flower Branch Pixel Quilt Tool in stock. With five windows for the Flower Branch Embroidery Quilt pattern they also include custom quarter inch marks for measuring your seams. The 101 Trousers are a gentle drawstring trouser with side pockets and a false fly, cut to sit on the waist. Featuring 3 versions – cropped & tapered trouser, wide straight trouser or shorts - so you can make the ideal length.

It is the second Tuesday of the month and that means you can join us for our Community Organized Stitch Night tonight - Tuesday September 8th from 5:30pm - 8:30pm in Toronto!
This is a great opportunity to finish off projects, meet up with old friends, make new ones and share a little show and tell. Bring a friend, drop in and enjoy some company while working away on your personal projects.
The Community Organized Stitch Night is taking place at the Contemporary Textile Studio Co-operative and is a pay-what-you-can event. The space includes a huge work surface and good lighting perfect for handwork and project planning! If you would like to bring your own sewing machine or serger there is space to accommodate machines as well.
The Contemporary Textile Studio Co-operative is located at 401 Richmond Street, Studio 109 with lots of parking options near by as well as the Spadina, Queen and King streetcars in easy walking distance.

Alexis rescued 50+ bolts of Designer Home Dec fabric last week from a local design studio and it landed in Sprucedale this weekend. We'll be working on photographing and cataloging them into the online shop bit by bit, but in the meantime they are a fun new reason to visit the shop in person.
We'll be posting photos for you over the next few weeks. Karyn is actually eyeing some of them for garments! While many are neutral greys, creams and whites (from pretty high end designers) - some of them are truly wild and wonderful. There is a limited quantity of these, so we're sure many will get snapped up before we are able to post them.
Studio Surplus is our rotating collection of designer deadstock, overstock, and unexpected fabric finds sourced through industry connections, uniform manufacturers, and past studio projects. Merchant & Mills landed in the shop on Tuesday! Did you catch the unboxing sneak peek Karyn posted earlier this week? Many of the fabrics we received go with our Chore Jacket Sew Along - like the Dark Wash Denim, Midnight Dry Oilskin and the Jade Denim.
For the first time we ordered the Merchant & Mills 8 Wale Corduroy and it is really velvety and the colours are so rich. (so dark and rich, that it's actually hard to get accurate photos!).
Karyn has been working her way through cutting the pre-orders but it always takes longer than we hope it will. The next wave of preorders will ship out right after the long weekend.
