Every little while I get the itch to add in a new color to by studio palette. I usually put it off because it always feels overwhelming.

I start by going through old samples and tests and unorganized notes, screenshots of notes on my phone and then take an inventory of my materials on hand. I always, always end up with at least one missing ingredient and then I plan a trip to the supply store.

I’ll keep you posted.

Yesterday I shared some vases for small bundles of stems. Here, I wanted to go even smaller.

About 3/4 lbs of stoneware, it’s a fun challenge to see what can be made on the pottery wheel.

I couldn’t decide on a song, so let the squishy clay sounds shine on…

A bowl is such a fun profile to make, but the success of them all comes down to the base. Give it structure, let it spread out to support the walls that are coming soon.
