Hi Facebook family, a little Friday note from me, Anne at Decora.
As some of you know, Decora has always meant something a little different to me. Growing up, Decora in the Marwell Industrial area, well it was my oasis. It was a childhood spent in the greenhouse transplanting, playing hide-n-seek in the nursery, making hot mud pies with my brother, and acting oh-so-grownup when answering the business phone.
I also grew up without an idea how long winter really was… because I had +25 in March, and warmth until October!
Decora today is founded on those memories, the feelings, the energy and the inspiration. It exists today in a different subdivision (we LOVE Hillcrest), a stunning 75year old building, and in a different chapter of mine and my families life. It was and is about more than plants, it’s about creativity, community, and connection.
I didn’t think I’d have the chance it bring that back but all these years later, I find myself creating Decora again, building on the memories, creating a new vision.
What do we hear the most from our customers today?
“WOW, it’s changed in here” with the not so subtle “again!”
We know. 😉
I’m still discovering what that means as we head into our 5th holiday season, but it’s taking shape and starting to look like I imagined it could. As I’m sure you can appreciate, changing 6,500sq ft as a small business is no small feat!
Today, Decora is a lot of things.
A place to shop. Sip. Gather. Create. Celebrate. Wander through something green as the Yukon days get shorter.
Most importantly a place that feels good to be in.
The oasis I grew up with is becoming something new.
And this time, it's for all Yukoners. 🌿
Something is growing at Decora. Stay tuned…
