We signed!

Takween-ICD and Drosos Foundation are starting a three-year project this November to support bazaar owners and build tourism experiences in Esna, Luxor and Dendera.
It began in Esna, where shop owners showed what happens when a community invests in itself. Now we get to do it again, in more places, with more people.

لطالما عُرفت إسنا بتراثها المعماري والحرفي الغني، لكن مع مرور الوقت، تراجعت بعض الحرف التقليدية، وعلى رأسها الحفر والتطعيم بالخشب. وفي المقابل، ظلت مواهب نساء المدينة وإمكاناتهن بعيدة عن فرص المشاركة في الاقتصاد السياحي.
من هنا، أطلقت تكوين لتنمية المجتمعات المتكاملة مشروع «ورشة ومعرض للأعمال الخشبية بقيادة نسائية في إسنا»، بتمويل من الوكالة الإسبانية للتعاون الدولي من أجل التنمية (AECID Egipto)، بهدف إحياء هذه الحرف وفتح آفاق جديدة للتمكين الاقتصادي للنساء.
بدأت الرحلة باكتشاف مواهب نساء إسنا في الحفر والتطعيم بالخشب، رغم أنهن لم يمتلكن خبرة سابقة في هذا المجال. وفي أكتوبر 2024، انطلقت «كاروت»، لتمنح هذه المواهب مساحة للتعلم والإبداع، وتحويل تراث المدينة إلى منتجات تجمع بين أصالة الحرف التقليدية والتصميم المعاصر.
ومن خلال خمس ورش للتصميم الإبداعي بمشاركة فنانين ومصممين، وأكثر من 20 ورشة تدريبية شارك فيها أكثر من 185 متدربًا، غالبيتهم من نساء إسنا، تطورت الأفكار والمهارات إلى أكثر من 2,200 قطعة ضمن 80 تصميمًا ومنتجًا متنوعًا، تشمل المرايا والصواني وألواح تقديم الجبن والإكسسوارات وقطع الديكور والهدايا التذكارية.
واليوم، تعمل عشر سيدات في ورشة «كاروت»، ويواصلن تحويل مهاراتهن إلى منتجات تحمل روح إسنا وتحكي قصص تراثها. فكاروت ليست مجرد ورشة للأعمال الخشبية، بل تجربة تجمع بين الحفاظ على الحرف التقليدية وخلق فرص اقتصادية جديدة للنساء.

ومن إسنا إلى معرض تراثنا، تأتي كاروت لتشارك جمهورًا أوسع حكاية مدينة، وتراثًا يتجدد بأيدي نسائها.

إسنا قرية صغيرة.
بيوتها التراثية كانت تنهار.
حياة أهلها كانت تنهار معها.

في محاضرته من أسبوع العمارة العربي السادس، يقدم كريم إبراهيم كيف ترميم التراث غيّر كل شيء.

البناء ليس مجرد إسمنت. سألنا: من سيعيش فيه؟ ماذا يحتاج؟ ما أحلامه؟ النتيجة: بيوت حية، لا ديكور.

الحرف القديمة = دخل جديد. النسيج والخزف والحفر — حرف كانت تندثر. فتحنا ورش تدريبية. ربطنا الحرفيين بأسواق حقيقية.

النتائج: قبل الترميم 70% بطالة. بعده 60% عاملين في الحرف. شباب توقفوا عن الهجرة. بدأوا البناء.

استخدمنا الموارد المحلية فقط. حرفيون من إسنا. طين وحجر محلي. كل جنيه بقي في القرية.

سياحة مسؤولة: الزوار يتعلمون الحرف، يشترون منتجات حقيقية، يناموا مع الأهل.

والنساء هن القلب: حرافيات يعملن باستقلالية، يعلمن بناتهن، يحافظن على التراث.

ترميم التراث لم يكن عن إنقاذ آثار. كان عن إعادة الحياة.

هذا هو سحر التغيير الحقيقي.
