A quick local trip yesterday to a pop up shop by There was sooo much fabulous fabric to choose from.

I was very restrained and made just 4 purchases. Now to decide what to make with it!

Two Christmas stockings and a Christmas advent calendar posted last week. Five more Christmas stockings finished this weekend!

A friend of mine asked me if I could make a yoga mat bag. I’d not made one before, but I love a challenge and I also love to use up scrap pieces of fabric.

So I started by finding scraps that were at least 2 1/2 inches wide, adding them to some batting and created fabric rope. This rope was then shown together to form one large piece and two small circles. I also added an inside pocket.

Last of all I added some magnetic snap fasteners.

She messaged me today to say how much she loves it and the first time she used it it was admired by others in the class!

The base fabric I used is old curtains, but any reasonable quality fabric will do (avoid being too thin)

I love using up small scraps of material.

It’s a long process, but it’s worth it. Here I’ve turned my scrappy Jelly Roll strip into a really useful bowl.

These bowls can be made in so many different sizes and used in so many ways. From storing fabric, sewing accessories, facecloths, make up, even toilet rolls in your bathroom. The list is endless.

I don't usually sell my Vintage large stocking panels as I prefer to make them up and sell as a finished Stocking. However, I have managed to get hold of a few more of these ones than I usually do, so I have added a couple to my website shop:

I popped one onto a card, drew legs / a branch & added a message to use it as an in sympathy card for a friend whose Aunt recently passed away.
