☀️ **Heatstroke can be deadly for dogs – and it can happen faster than you think.**
Excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, and confusion are all warning signs that your dog may be overheating. On warm days, always provide plenty of fresh water, access to shade, and avoid walking during the hottest parts of the day.
🚨 **If you suspect heatstroke:**
Move your dog to a cool, shaded area immediately. Use cool, wet towels on their stomach, groin, and paws to help lower their body temperature, and offer small amounts of cool water to drink.
⚠️ **Important:** Do **not** place wet towels over the top of your dog. This can actually make things worse by trapping heat and preventing the water from evaporating from their skin and coat, which reduces their ability to cool down effectively.
Contact your vet as soon as possible, even if your dog appears to be recovering.
🐾 Quick action can save a life. Stay vigilant and keep your furry friends safe this summer. ❤️
