Here is the latest WKNDR to leave the Feather Cycles Workshop. WKNDR is Feather Cycles sister brand, specialising in a more standardised approach to things. TIG welded, customisable framesets with a range of build kits to choose from making it easy to build a bike to your budget or required spec.

Doug’s road bike is an absolute timeless beauty.

It’s taken me a while to find the time to go through the photos taken in the studio so you will have already seen this one, but these shots give you a much clearer picture of just how clean this thing is.

From the smooth fillets to the glass like paint finish, this one oozes class and elegance.

First outing for Doug on his new Feather which he collected yesterday. Here’s what he had to say -

“Wow Ricky - what can I say. You’ve built an absolute dream machine here. So planted but absolutely loves the bends - just feels totally alive on the road. Thank you!!!”

There is nothing quite like collection day after that long wait to get your hands on your dream bike!

I was just running an errand to grab something I needed for ’s Trek Emonda restoration and fresh build I’ve helped out with and saw him pass me on his gorgeous Feather. Half hour later he sends these ☀️🌼

The latest custom Feather in completion is Doug’s stunning road bike. Using Spirit for the frame build, this will be sure to have a wonderful ride quality which I know first hand all too well. throughout will keep all the moving parts rolling and turning way into the future. The hubs are laced into ENVE 2.3 for a lightweight and comfortable wheelset ready to take on the Pennines which Doug has basically no choice but to ride.

Once again, absolutely nailed the paint, this one taking a strong influence from the classic Speedvagen paint schemes with our own colour combo.

This one is destined to join some of my favourite builds of all time. Look out for the detailed studio shots next week and have a great Easter weekend!

Kristian just sent over a photo of the gravel bike I built for him a couple of years ago. He told me “I’ve made a few alterations over the last year and now she rides like an absolute weapon over in Denmark!”.

This was the first gravel bike I built for bigger tyres and although I didn’t get to ride the Traka with him due to crashing my bike a couple of weeks earlier, I did get to witness him rip up the 200km course whilst out and about in Girona on the road bike.

Mark sent over some photos of his gorgeous adopted Feather following its retirement from promotional duties for . He sent it back to us for some TLC and a coat of internal treatment and recently completed the rebuild. Such a lovely bike this one!

It’s been a busy one this week, finishing Feather frames, building up Feather completes, starting two .cc frames, plus a paint run to collect two WKNDR’s ahead of assembly next week and finalising a couple of Feather spec’s.

Nothing beats the feeling of being productive and seeing progress. I’m super excited for the next few weeks of builds!

collected his second Feather today. He made the trip by road and ferry and the way from Munich, so it would have been rude to not take him for a spin on the local lanes.

Chris has about 9 weeks of bedding the bike in before taking it on a trip from Finisterre back to Munich crossing multiple mountain ranges across Spain and France averaging around 150km per day with 3000m of up. What a trip this will be and aboard this awesome new bike with additional stability, comfort and a much wider range of gears compared to the road bike I built for him 5 years ago.

I cannot wait to see where this thing takes you Chris!

Last week saw our very first Frame Building Experience in collaboration with . Gareth and Tom came to the workshop on Monday as complete beginners and both ended Friday with a fantastic hand made frame and lots of new skills. Gareth, owner of built a hardtail 29er, and Tom of built a gravel frame which we will build into a complete bike for him .

I’d like to thank Andrew for joining us, his teaching ability is absolutely admirable and it was fantastic to spend more time getting to know you.

Congratulations to both Tom and Gareth on such a successful week, you should both be incredibly proud of your achievements!
