Surely a mid-high handicapper is better playing game improver irons?

NOT ALWAYS!!!!!!

It depends entirely on the golfer and entirely on how that club gets delivered. Yes, that game improver iron has its qualities but handicap shouldn’t be attributed to a specific set of irons. Players distance irons probably have the biggest range of handicap. Potentially ANYONE.

How do you know EXACTLY how to gap a set or split/combo a set when you only test one club?

At all three SGGT studios we have four irons across every set of clubs, so for every set in the bay we have:

4 iron ✅
6 iron ✅
8 iron ✅
P wedge ✅

This allows us to dial you in to a degree where we can say for sure you need to combo a certain set but equally, it might just allow us to say, no, you need to go full set T150/ZXi7/Mizuno Pro S-3 and so on.

It also allows us to compare 4i to a 4hy and see if there’s value there in 5, 4, 3 and 2 hybrids.

There are many benefits to both but being able to test EXACTLY what you need is sometimes very difficult. At all our SGGT studios we can do exactly that. Test it.

If you are a golfer seeking pure control, and hit a lot of off-speed shots with your wedges, then a Vokey, Milled Grind, Opus or RTZ2 could be for you.
