Wowβ¦ just wow. π Completely overwhelmed by the response to our closing down announcement this week, thank you so much for every order, message and story shared. Itβs been an emotional, busy, and beautiful week all at once. π
Here's just a fraction of the prints that have left us this week.
Weβve been bombarded by farewell messages from customers who still have prints from our very first years proudly hanging on their walls. Customers have been in touch who've regularly ordered dawns for births, weddings, anniversaries and more over the years along with touching stories of prints ordered for loved ones no longer with us. Itβs reminded us how these sunrise images connect so deeply on so many different levels.
Weβve seen a rush of orders from early Christmas shoppers, long-overdue gifts ("I always meant to get this ordered" has been a recurring theme!), prints bought for grown-up children's first days, including 16th and 18th birthdays from dawns captured back in 2006! A handful of grandparents have been in touch ordering prints for ALL their grandchildren too! Wedding day and day we met prints have been popular, with a very amusing message from a customer, politely translated as "The wife would never let me live it down if I didn't finally order this" π
Favourite comment of the week though:
β¨ βIn a world thatβs become increasingly fake and and more about AI, filters and algorithms youβve stood for something beautifully pure... Real human talent, passion and dedication to create something that's both timeless and emotional.β
Thank you for helping us end this chapter on such a high. π«π
The archive will remain online until the end of November to order your special dawn - maybe one youβve always meant to get, or a gift for someone who just needs a little positivity adding to their walls π Explore our sunrise archive here: https://thedaythat.co.uk/, and please do share this with anyone who may not have ordered yet.
Here's hoping for a sunny final sunrise tomorrow, it'll be emotional since as another customer said this week βCornwall has lost a little bit of history.β π
With love and thanks to all of you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Day That Team x
