The annual boys bike tour is back 🚴‍♂️

Rob, Paul, John, Mick and friend of the shop Rich recently returned from an incredible 4-day cycle tour around the West Coast of Scotland. Blessed with fantastic weather from start to finish, the trip was all about good company, stunning scenery and enjoying the journey.

Starting near Oban, the team caught the ferry over to Mull before riding along the shores of Loch Frisa and heading north to Tobermory. From there, an evening ferry took them across to Ardnamurchan and the beautiful Sanna Bay for their first camp spot.

Day 2 followed the north shore of Loch Sunart with more incredible coastal riding before camping in Strontian.

Day 3 began with a steep climb over the Bealach before descending onto a long gravel track running alongside Loch Shiel all the way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct. A quieter road section followed before the team reached Corran for their final night of camping.

The final day started with the morning ferry across Loch Linnhe before heading south towards Oban via the island of Lismore. A sunny lunch stop at the island café rounded things off nicely before the last ferry back to Oban.

4 days cycling, 5 ferries, 3 camp outs, 175 miles and 12,000ft of climbing, but as always, it wasn’t about the stats, it was all about the journey.

Our Outside Ambassador Sarah has just wrapped up an epic mini adventure, fast packing the Cumbria Way 🥾
112km of incredible scenery, wild landscapes, and new hostel friends.

This trip was also a dry run for future guided tours, and safe to say… it was a huge success.

☀️ It’s set to be a glorious Bank Holiday weekend here in the Peak District, but with warm, dry weather comes an increased risk of wildfires.

Over the last few years, we’ve sadly seen a rise in devastating wildfires across the Peak District, many of which can start accidentally.

If you’re heading out to enjoy the sunshine, please help us protect this special place we all love ❤️

🔥 A few simple ways to reduce wildfire risk:

1️⃣ No naked flames in the Peak District, including BBQs

2️⃣ Pick up litter, especially glass

3️⃣ Bring hot water from home instead of boiling your own while out in the hills

We’d love your help sharing this message far and wide. Together, we can help protect the wonderful Peak District for everyone to enjoy.

From all of us at Outside, thank you to our amazing community for helping spread the word 🙌💚

Staff sends, this time from earlier in the year when he headed to the Alps for some winter climbing. The pair managing to climb Charlet-Bettembourg Gully TD-4 and the 3 star Gabarrou-Albinoni TD, one of the most famous routes on the Tacul’s East Face and a true winter gem. The pair also managed to ski the col du passion and vallee Blanche. Not a bad trip.

The staff adventures continue... This time, with Chris on a 3-day sea kayaking trip last week.

"Starting and finishing a few miles south of Mallaig, the journey took us into Loch Nevis and through the stunning scenery of Knoydart 🛶
The weather stayed kind, the midges thankfully haven’t surfaced yet, and the wild camping delivered some incredible wildlife encounters, including several otters, porpoises, white-tailed eagles, and red deer."

Not a bad way to spend a few days in the Highlands!
