We’re excited to welcome mountaineer and Berghaus Ambassador Leo Houlding to Outside Ltd, Hathersage, for an evening of expedition stories, adventure and mountain kit.

Join us for An Evening with Berghaus and Leo Houlding, as Leo takes us behind the scenes of his latest expedition, sharing the journey, the challenges, the adventures along the way, and the EXTREM kit that supported him in the mountains.

From expedition planning and life in the mountains to the realities of pushing yourself in some of the world’s most challenging environments, Leo will share the stories and experiences that sit behind the photographs and summit lines.

Is a fear of falling holding you back from achieving your climbing goals?

Join us at the Outside Ltd Café, Hathersage, for a practical evening with Dr Fin Haleyfrom Expedition Psychology – The Fear of Falling: Climb at Your Limit Without Fear Holding You Back.

Aimed at climbers who are strong enough to try hard but keep stopping themselves at the crux, this is an evening about understanding fear and learning how to work with it.

No willpower lectures, just how fear really works and what to do about it.

Fin Haley is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a Rock-Climbing Instructor, bringing together psychological expertise with practical climbing experience.

Join us at the Outside Ltd Café, Hathersage, for the launch of A Man for All Mountains: the Biography of Jack Longland.

A climber, educator and broadcaster, his influence reached from the highest mountains of the world to classrooms, airwaves and policy rooms, united by a belief that mountains, landscapes and ideas are at their best when shared.

Author Mark Lambert will be talking about Longland’s remarkable life and legacy, drawing on his new biography. Mark grew up in Bakewell and, alongside a career as a surgeon and university lecturer, has climbed extensively across Europe and beyond. He counts the Left Wall (E2) of Dinas y Gromlech among his climbing highlights and earlier this year climbed Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia with Graham Hoyland.

An evening celebrating a fascinating life, a lasting contribution to British mountaineering, and the people and ideas that connect us to the mountains.
