Sounds more like a pebbly brook than heavy rain. Lasts 5 mins and fades out at the end. About 12 “ tall. Loads of designs and longer durations. Is quite heavy. I put this handle on so I can turn it over with one hand. Quieter than a usual rain stick, prob too quiet for gongs without amplification. This isn’t a sponsored post. Thank you for this cool sound!

This mallet just sounds and feels right. Lovely balance, great tone. Took a while to get it just right. Couldn’t decide on red or navy, so I give you both! Demo coming, but it’s in my store NOW! 😊🙏🙏

My double ended mallets happened by accident. I used to do these as a pair of single rollers, and was experimenting with holding them further up the shaft, to see how that affected their sound, and the handle kept hitting the gong… hang on… ta daa! Now I can do rolls (and more) with one hand. What you do with your free hand is up to you. I like to lay some bass tones in underneath or add a bowl. ‘Simple’ perhaps, if you are a bit tech minded. I use AUM all the time. Is about £20 in the App Store. If you use instruments, mics, prerecorded tracks and backings or want to use iOS instruments such as organs, strings etc then it does that. Loads of free fx available. Also really good paid for ones, but not expensive.

I don’t have the space or neighbours for more than one. But it does focus the mind. I sit down to play. For me is like sitting on a sofa having a deep chat v stood up and able to walk away as soon as my mind wanders. It makes me ask better questions, I get to know it more intimately maybe.
Having one canvas calls for lots of interesting brushes of course...
