Amphorae: An Incomplete Compendium of Non-Ancient Greek Vessels by Anna Kiosse takes everything you think you know about the hallowed ancient ceramics and turns it upside down.

157 unique drawings of decidedly NON-ancient vessels, that started simply as “a way to fill blank pages”, brimming with all the colours of the spectrum, with shapes inspired by antiquity and others that have just come from Anna’s head.

Phrases like “Go with the flow” “Nothing Lasts Forever” “Love Me Harder” “I wish I was special” “YOLO” “Can I Pet Your Dog?” may sound like the ravings of a mad poet, the words scrawled on a bathroom stall or in a teenager’s diary, but scribbled across the revered shapes of the ancients, they become the little works of genius for today.

In prehistoric and Ancient Greece, amphorae were originally used simply as transport and storage vessels. Later, amphorae became more and more decorative, made to be displayed. Their distinctive handles and oblong shape became a literal canvas for some of the most talented artists/ illustrators of antiquity.

Now imagine if those same artisans were creating today. Make them pop with colour, draw them with lines that are raw and punk, add phrases which shout out your feelings, whisper in your lover’s ear, or stumble over drunken lyrics you sing with your friends.

This unique, joyous mishmash erupts out of the hands and spirit of Anna Kiosse, the artist, illustrator, ceramicist, graphic designer, author (she calls herself a Swiss army knife) behind Amphorae.

As someone who has hiked over 10,000 miles of trails and spent more than 400 nights under the stars, Iron Tazz is dedicated to inspiring the next generation to discover the skills they need to be prepared and connected in the wild. Illustrations are by hiker, camper, and outdoor explorer Deborah Hocking, a Pacific Northwest native who brings each skill to life through her lived experience, making each step easy to understand and execute.

When Herbie has the sniffles, he stays home from school. It’s exciting to have time to play Space Blasters and watch cartoons. But, by lunchtime, he starts to wonder what he might be missing at school. What if there’s an extra playtime, a dog on the loose … or even A PIRATE INVASION? Is Herbie missing out on all the action?

Spanning from the Middle Ages to the present, it traces how excrement has been depicted, mobilised, or aestheticised over time.

The use of s**t, whether as material or as symbol, has often served as a gesture of transgression, a way to test the limits of representation, to question systems of value, and to express forms of resistance or dissent.

Produced in a compact format reminiscent of pocket Bibles, the book contrasts its discreet appearance with the explicitness of its content.

La M***e is a personal anthology bringing together more than 200 images from art history, popular culture, and various other fields that engage with bodily material, abjection, and the politics of visibility.

Developed as an extension of the eponymous project for the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale, the publication functions both as an archive and as an autonomous object.

Madeleine de Sinéty. Une vie is the first monograph dedicated to the photographer, whose work spans four decades, across France and the United States.

A self-taught photographer, Madeleine de Sinéty produced her best-known series in the village of Poilley, in Brittany, where she settled in the early 1970s. There, she documented the lives of its inhabitants, in colour and black and white, through an approach that was both artistic and deeply human. The body of work she leaves behind is the result of a keen observation of reality, whether in Paris, New York or Poilley.

With humanity and tenderness, she offers an intimate account of a world in the midst of change.

Daido Moriyama, a photographer whose work has had a profound impact in Japan, Europe and the United States, is best known for his photographs of seemingly mundane subjects – often street scenes – rendered in high-contrast black and white, with raw layouts where the image spills beyond the frame.

But what is less well known is that he has never ceased to reflect on the meaning of photography. From his famous Adieu Photographie (1972) to the present day, he has written numerous essays and articles, most of which have remained unpublished in French.

Alongside a selection of his photographs that resonate with the theme, this book will present numerous texts translated from Japanese for the first time. An entire chapter will be devoted to his obsession with the very first photograph, Point de vue du Gras, taken by the Frenchman Nicéphore Niépce between 1826 and 1827 at his home in St Loup de Varenne. A wonderful way to celebrate the bicentenary of photography!
