We are super excited to be partnering with Fill Refill here at A Simpler Life!
Hair, body and cleaning products with no harsh chemicals. They are biodegradable, cruelty-free and made just down the road from us in Northamptonshire.
The best bit... They are genuinely closed-loop. We send our barrels back, and they refill them for us to use again and again.

Swap the plastic scrubber for a natural dish brush. Ditch the rubber gloves that shed microplastics for natural latex ones. Choose a solid washing up bar over a plastic bottle, or bring in your bottle for us to refill for you.

We've got everything to help you make the switch — wooden dish brushes, bottle brushes, natural latex gloves, washing up bars, compostable Ziploc bags and bin liners, coconut scrub pads, and Swedish sponge cloths.

What a wonderful week. 🌿

We took on A Simpler Life last Wednesday, and honestly – I wasn't sure what to expect. Starting something new always comes with a mix of excitement and nerves, and this felt like big shoes to fill. But it has been extraordinary!

So many of you have dropped in this week to make sure the shop you love is staying. You've introduced yourselves, shared your stories, and told me what this place means to you.

We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and welcomed many new faces too.
It is clear that this isn't just an eco refill shop. It's a community built around something that truly matters — living more gently, more thoughtfully, and with a little more care for the world we share.

And those of you who haven't visited us yet, we're at 9 High Street West in Uppingham, and I would absolutely love to see you. Come and say hello. 💚

A little about me… My name is Becky, and I've been passionate about sustainable living for years, from reusable nappies to plastic-free swaps. So, when the opportunity came to take on this wonderful little shop, it felt like it was meant to be. I grew up around a family business, and I can't wait to get to know you all. The shop, the values and the warmth Elaine has built here are all staying—I'm just adding my own chapter. 🌿

Hello! I'm Rebecca, and I'm so pleased to be taking over this wonderful little shop in April 2026.

If you're here because Elaine pointed you this way — thank you for following. The shop you know and love is continuing, and I'm committed to keeping everything that makes A Simpler Life special: the plastic-free ethos, the quality ingredients, and the sense that doing things more sustainably doesn't have to be complicated or expensive.

A little about me: I'm a qualified beauty therapist, aromatherapist, and natural skincare formulator with a specialism in gut-skin consultancy – the fascinating science of how gut health shows up on our skin and wellbeing. I'll be sharing insights, alongside updates from the shop, new products, and a look at sustainable living that's rooted in real life rather than perfection.
