When it comes to the different guitar string options, the thickness of the string, known as its gauge, is one of the most important variables to get your head around because it completely changes how your guitar feels to play. If you’ve been struggling with sore fingers, you may be using strings that are too thick. On the other hand, if you’ve been breaking strings often and struggling to get a thick enough tone, you may be using strings that are too thin!
