Many schools are struggling with funding and staffing school libraries. Let’s fill this basket with graphic novels, interesting non-fiction, social stories, poetry and newly published books that will get children and young adults excited about reading! The National Literacy Trust found that although reading enjoyment rose this year among 8-18 yard olds ‘there is a widening inequality: reading enjoyment among those not in receipt of free School meals rose from 33% - 37.3% while their peers in receipt of free School meals only increased from 31%- 32.1%
