Sue and Hannah had a lovely visit to Four Oaks yesterday 🌿

Great to get out and speak to other companies around us! 🤝

Plenty of ideas came back with us… and maybe a slightly longer wish list too 🌱👀

🌱 September is sowing season! 🌱

There’s still plenty you can grow now, from quick salad leaves and spinach to hardy greens, overwintering veg and autumn-sown flowers. 🌿🌸

If you caught Nick’s last video on deadheading, you’ll know there’s more to those spent flowers than meets the eye… 🌸

This time, Nick is showing us why you might want to hold onto some of those flower heads and collect the seeds rather than simply throwing them away.

It’s a simple way to repurpose what your garden has already produced, reduce waste and enjoy another generation of your favourite flowers!

Deadheading isn’t just about keeping your flowers looking their best 🌸✂️

Removing faded and spent blooms encourages many plants to put their energy into producing more flowers instead of seeds, helping to extend the flowering season and keep your garden looking fresh and colourful.

🌶️ Pepper Plant Care Guide 🌿

Want bigger, healthier pepper plants? Follow these simple tips:

• ☀️ Grow in a warm, sunny, sheltered spot (6–8 hours of sunlight).
• 💧 Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged.
• 🌱 Feed weekly with a high-potash fertiliser once flowers appear.
• 🪴 Use fertile, well-drained soil or quality compost.
• ✂️ Remove the first flower on young plants to encourage stronger growth.

A little care goes a long way, and your pepper plants will reward you with a bumper harvest! 🌶️🙌

Our Director, Sue, has been getting stuck in with her garden lately! 🌱🔨

She’s been busy constructing a new raised bed, ready for sowing some delicious home-grown veg. 🥕🥬🫛

🌻 Look how far they’ve come! 🌻

We’ve come a long way since planting these sunflowers—check out the linked reel to see where they started! It’s amazing what a little sunshine, water, and patience can do. 💛
Once the flowers have faded, leave the seed heads for the birds or save some seeds to grow again next year.

Boxes of Sunshine

Have you grown sunflowers this year? We’d love to see your photos in the comments! 🌻

Keeping your tomato plants happy is all about the little jobs! 🍅🌱

Today we’re trimming the lower leaves to improve airflow, reduce the risk of disease, and help the plant focus its energy where it matters most. We’re also keeping an eye on those trusses—making sure they’re developing well, supported properly, and not overcrowded for the best possible harvest.

We had a very enthusiastic little helper lending a hand today too—our director’s grandson! It’s never too early to get stuck into gardening, and it’s lovely to see the next generation enjoying life in the greenhouse.
