Nel 1993 i due graphic designer Markus e Daniel Freitag erano alla ricerca di una borsa funzionale, impermeabile e robusta per contenere i loro progetti. Ispirati dal traffico dei coloratissimi mezzi pesanti che tutti i giorni rombavano sulla tangenziale di Zurigo davanti alla loro abitazione, crearono una Messenger Bag utilizzando vecchi teloni di camion, camere d’aria usate e cinture di sicurezz

a. Così, nel salotto di quell’appartamento, nacquero le prime borse FREITAG, tutte riciclate, tutte pezzi unici. I due fratelli hanno così dato inizio a una rivoluzione nel mondo delle borse che da Zurigo è sconfinata nelle città europee fino all’Asia, rendendo FREITAG il fornitore ufficioso di tutti i ciclisti individualisti urbani. Nel 2014, con F-ABRIC si sono regalati un materiale nuovo: tessuti ottenuti da fibre vegetali, prodotti nel raggio di 2'500 chilometri da Zurigo con un impiego minimo di risorse, altamente resistenti e completamente biodegradabili. F-ABRIC, quindi, si inserisce più che legittimamente nella filosofia di FREITAG: we think and act in cycles.
