If you can make it the Athol Record Fair this Saturday, October 17th, we'd love to say hello.

The wait is over ...

Some loudspeakers impress you with what they do. Others make you wonder how they do it…

Meet Linn 343 — the compact reference loudspeaker that fits into any home, bringing extraordinary musical performance together with elegant proportions.

The first loudspeaker to be designed around Linn’s revolutionary Pistonik drive unit technology from the outset, 343 delivers scale, composure and truth from a form so compact and poised that its performance seems almost impossible.

The wonder of 343 isn’t simply that it sounds “big for its size”, but rather how completely it changes what a compact loudspeaker can be. In short, it’s Wonder-full.

Check out HIFI Projects at the Athol Record Fair on October 17th.

Bring along your favourite vinyl – or listen to ours. We’ll have an award winning Rega Planar 3 RS setup, so come over and hear records the way they are meant to be heard.

The fair is at Athol Hall, 28 Athol Five Rivers Highway, about 50 minutes south from Queenstown – from 10am until 4pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

HIFI Projects is going on holiday

Very soon, Andy will be packing his bags and travelling to the northern hemisphere, including a visit to Linn in Glasgow. While he’s there, he’ll be listening to some sublime systems, including the new Pistonik 360s, and learning directly from Linn’s in-house experts. Topics will include LP12 setup, Space Optimisation and more. Once Andy is back in New Zealand, he’ll share the insights, tips and inspiration gathered along the way.

Album Art quiz – May 2026

Last month’s album art quiz must have been easier than I expected – as I had two winners. Hats off to Robyn on the Gold Coast and Tony in London for the highest scores. The correct answers (L-R) were:

The The - Soul Mining
The Doors - LA Woman
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA
Carole King - Tapestry
Led Zeppelin - In Through The Out Door
Paul Simon - Graceland
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
Genesis - Duke
The Police - Regatta de Blanc

If you can name artist and album, email me at [email protected]. Closest correct answer wins the record brush.

Album art is taking a holiday for a couple of months as Andy travels to the UK for a visit. A trip to Linn in Scotland is on his agenda, so watch this space.
