Long before Elevate AV, I was already behind the scenes rigging events and making things happen.

This setup was from many years ago — good old 1000W PAR cans, proper dimmer racks, heavy power distribution and plenty of cable! No compact LED fixtures back then… these things were hot, heavy and very power hungry. 😅

A lot has changed in event technology since then, but the fundamentals haven’t: safe rigging, good planning, reliable equipment and making the event look right.

After more than 30 years around sound, lighting and events, it’s great to now bring that experience into Elevate AV here in New Zealand.

Different technology. Same passion.

What a difference lighting makes.

A throwback to this corporate dinner at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson.

For this event, the goal wasn’t just to make the room brighter — it was to create atmosphere. Uplighting around the ballroom, moving effects overhead and a clean DJ setup completely changed the feel of the space once the evening got underway.

That’s the part of event production I really enjoy: taking an ordinary room and turning it into something that feels like an event.

Another setup being prepared at Elevate AV — this time for a 50th birthday celebration this Saturday night! 🥳

While Luciano is an experienced Audio Visual Technician and the owner of Elevate AV, there’s another side to the business too…

🎧 Years of DJ experience and a genuine passion for music.

Luciano started DJing at the ripe old age of 14 and over the years has played in clubs and at events across South Africa, the UK and New Zealand.

From funk, soul and disco through to house, funky house and those tracks that simply get a dance floor moving, that experience now forms another part of what Elevate AV can bring to an event.

This weekend’s brief: a stylish 50th birthday celebration with great sound, great music and a great atmosphere.

Now to get everything prepped and ready for Saturday! 🎶🎧
