Rex Education proudly joined CEAP and Private Education Assistance Committee for the Enhanced Araling Panlipunan Curriculum in Basic Education Validation Workshop, held on October 27–28, 2026.

Bringing together educators, school leaders, and curriculum experts from Catholic schools nationwide, the workshop provided an opportunity to review and strengthen the proposed curriculum, with emphasis on historical understanding, civic responsibility, critical thinking, and Filipino identity. The initiative aims to make Araling Panlipunan more relevant, responsive, and aligned with the mission of Catholic education.

We thank CEAP for its continued trust and partnership, and PEAC for its valuable collaboration. Together, we remain committed to developing meaningful learning resources that empower educators and nurture learners who are informed, socially responsible, and committed to the common good.

At the Annual Educators’ Congress (AECON) 2026, Commission on Higher Education(CHED) (CHED) Chairperson Shirley Agrupis joined fellow education leaders in exploring the link between education and human capital development. 𝗔𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮— 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿

As AECON 2026 continued into its second and final day, we welcomed new initiatives and partnerships, engaged in meaningful discussions, and explored more ways to work together for the future of education.

REX launched its 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁 campaign and formalized its partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Secretariat. We also launched QA-SAMA, a joint initiative with the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

A highlight of the day was The Future I Want, where five Filipino learners from kindergarten, JHS, SHS, Technical-Vocational education, and Higher Education shared their hopes for Philippine education, reminding us why their voices must remain central to the conversations and decisions that shape their future.

The day also featured 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, with education leaders and experts from across Southeast Asia sharing their insights and experiences.

As we close two meaningful days of AECON 2026, 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀!

AECON 2026 continued into Day 2 with the launch of Rex Education’s newest campaign, 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘁!, led by REX CEO Don Timothy Buhain. This was followed by a keynote address from Datuk Dr. Habibah Abdul Rahim, Executive Director of the SEAMEOSecretariat, on navigating education futures across ASEAN and the Philippines.

Bringing the conversation closer to the learners themselves, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 featured five Filipino learners representing kindergarten, junior high school, senior high school, technical-vocational education, and college, who shared their hopes for Philippine education. Their perspectives set the stage for a panel discussion on linking education and human capital development, featuring 𝗗𝗿. 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗵 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗞𝗶𝗸𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘇, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗽𝗶𝘀, 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻.

The day also marked two important milestones in educational collaboration. REX and the SEAMEO Secretariat formalized a partnership 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲-𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Later in the afternoon, REX and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) launched QA-SAMA, an initiative supporting quality assurance in Catholic education.

The discussions continued through two fireside chats exploring the future of socioemotional learning in schools and the development of teachers and education leaders. A spotlight session also examined the role of artificial intelligence in shaping learning futures. Together, these sessions brought education practitioners and experts from across Southeast Asia into conversations on shared challenges, emerging opportunities, and possible paths forward.

The Congress concluded with a synthesis by Dr. Edizon Fermin, “𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗼: 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿,” followed by a special performance from acclaimed Filipino singer, Christian Bautista.

AECON 2026 has truly provided a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives, learn from experiences across the region, and reflect on how we can better respond to the evolving needs of our learners.

As it comes to a close, we hope these discussions will continue in our schools, institutions, and partnerships, informing the decisions and actions that shape education in our country and beyond.
