Thank you, Asheville City Schools Band. We’re proud to see these instruments supporting so many students, educators, and community musicians for years to come.

New Timpani are a once in a generation purchase for a music program that last anywhere from 3 to 4 decades if cared for. Thank you so much Asheville City Schools for investing in the auditorium stage equipment so that every performing group from the Asheville Middle and High School Bands, to community partners like the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra, Youth Percussion Ensemble, and Asheville Community Band have equipment dedicated to that space and worthy of our performances. Every single week more than 475 musicians use music facilities at Asheville High School. During any given concert cycle more than 750 band / orchestra students and community members perform in our auditorium in October, December, March and May. These beautiful Ludwig Grand Symphonic Hand Hammered Timpani will get a LOT of use! We are also proud to be school that uses Ludwig-Musser Percussion - manufactured right here in Monroe, North Carolina!

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, whose extraordinary legacy extends far beyond the music she shared with the world. Before becoming one of music’s most beloved artists, Dolly was a percussionist and majorette in her high school band.

She remained a passionate supporter of music education throughout her life, and it wasn’t until 2022 that her years of anonymously funding instrument and uniform purchases for school programs in need became known.

Her talent made her an icon. Her generosity, kindness, and commitment to giving others a chance to shine made her something even more.

We join the music community in remembering an extraordinary life and legacy.

We’re proud to welcome Sasha Berliner to the Ludwig-Musser artist family.

An award-winning vibraphonist and composer based in Los Angeles, Sasha has become one of the most distinct voices in modern mallet performance. Named the #1 Rising Star Vibraphonist in the DownBeat Critics Poll and selected for NPR Jazz Night in America’s Class of 2024 Youngbloods, she continues to expand the role of the vibraphone across jazz, contemporary composition, and electric music.

Sasha has performed and collaborated with artists including Christian McBride, Tyshawn Sorey, Marcus Gilmore, The HR Big Band, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Juicy J, The Free Nationals, and Flea. As a bandleader, her albums Azalea, Onyx, and Fantome trace a wide musical path through acoustic and electric textures, improvisation, and composition.

Her next project, Arts & Sciences, continues that forward motion with an electric band built around new possibilities for the vibraphone.
