The waters have finally settled. This month has been a lot, but now it's calm. The divorce that stretched across two years is finally behind me. I chose this place over 120 Acres of forest land and a cabin up north, and a lot of possessions. This place is now my retirement and singular focus in my life. I believe in Antigo, and that was a major part of the separation.

With the property settled, the commercial kitchen equipment has found new homes, and every dollar from those sales went directly toward paying down invoices. That came just in time for a fresh wave of inventory.

We’re also building new partnerships with talented book artisans, manga publishers, and distributors who understand the kind of bookstore we’re creating. Some construction plans didn’t work out the way I expected, but we kept moving forward anyway.

Property taxes are paid. Sales taxes are paid. Thanks to all of you, sales were strong enough to meet every obligation and still leave room to invest back into the store.

With teachers heading back to school soon, it’s almost time to add another kind, dependable team member—someone who treats regulars like neighbors. Around here, there’s a decent chance his name will be Dan. 🧑‍🏫 👩‍🏫 (Love our teachers!)

Every dollar this bookstore earns gets poured right back into this 120-year-old building and into making it a place worth visiting. If you’ve been thinking about stopping in, this is a great time. The shelves are full, exciting things are on the way, and for the first time in a long time, it feels like we’re building the future on purpose.

Back to a steady rhythm. Time to build, refine, and keep growing. ❤️ Posts incoming.
