“Few dates in Christian history carry the significance of October 31, 1517. On that day, an Augustinian monk and university professor named Martin Luther posted his famous Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. What appeared to be an invitation for academic debate became the spark that ignited the Protestant Reformation, permanently altering the religious, political, cultural, and educational landscape of Europe and eventually the entire world.
Although Luther did not initially intend to divide the church or establish a new denomination, his call for biblical reform challenged long-standing ecclesiastical traditions and redirected attention to the supreme authority of Scripture and the centrality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. More than five centuries later, October 31, 1517, remains one of the most pivotal moments in the history of Christianity.”
