Beta Events and Pre-releases are very similar tournaments. Both are played in Local Game Stores, and both are played in the same “sealed deck” format.
The biggest difference between the two is that Beta Events are run using Welcome to Night City Beta booster packs, and Pre-releases are run using Welcome to Night City Retail Booster packs. You’ll also find different promo cards included in Beta Event and Pre-release kits.
Beta Events are run on a more limited scale as an early preview of our pre-release experience, and a unique opportunity to acquire some limited Beta cards in your Local Game Store.
In sealed deck tournaments like Beta Events and Pre-releases, players receive a kit containing a promo card, six Cyberpunk TCG booster packs, and a pack containing three random additional Legend cards.
At the start of the event, the first thing you’ll do is construct a deck to play with, using the contents of your sealed packs — that’s where the name comes from! You can’t add any other cards you own to this deck until after the tournament is complete. Everything you play with comes from your sealed event kit.
Entry is $45, and space is limited!

Rocking Raft: This sparkling new arrival caught my attention right away. Rocking Raft is an easy-to-learn, tactile balancing game, great for families and casual game nights. Magic Presents: Heart of the Mountain is a casual Commander event that pits players against one another as they battle for control of the Heart of the Mountain, the legendary Arkenstone. The first player to deal combat damage to another becomes the first owner of the Arkenstone. Players may then claim the Arkenstone emblem for themselves by dealing combat damage to the owner, gaining bonuses while in possession of it—and also becoming the primary target at the table!

Each turn that a player controls the Arkenstone, during their upkeep phase they increase their ownership count by one (they do not lose this count if someone takes the Arkenstone from them). If a player's ownership count reaches three, they win the game.

Players receive the promo card for participating, while supplies last.

Magic players its your time! Play in our RCQ Event, bring your best Standard deck and have 2 chances to win a ticket to the Regional Championship. Entry is $40 and the format is a Standard Swiss tournament with a cut to top 8. Rules This is a Competitive REL tournament. A paper decklist is required. Judges will provide detailed instructions on tournament procedures before Round 1, and collect decklists at that time.
