For me, that looks like having the time to pour my heart into making my products—something tangible—while playing ’90s R&B in the background.

I want to romanticize the ordinary and make room for the little things that bring me back to myself. Taking a moment to appreciate something as simple as a clean and beautifully scented space.

There’s something special about creating this kind of life. And maybe that’s the kind of success I’m chasing now.

What does success look like for you?

I know to you, this probably just looks like me cleaning off a candle jar.

But to me, it’s so much more than that.

It’s me perfecting something so beautifully made by me. Something I created with my own hands while trying to hold all the broken pieces of me together.

It’s an outlet. A distraction. A way of escaping for a little while when my mind feels heavy. Something I can pour myself into when I don’t always have the words to explain what I’m feeling.

And somewhere between the cleaning and the perfecting, I find myself smiling.

Swaying back and forth.

Singing along to Constant by Maverick City Music and Chandler Moore, because lately, that song has been on repeat for a reason.

There have been so many moments where I’ve had to remind myself that even when I don’t feel okay, God is still constant. Even when I feel like I’m falling apart, He hasn’t changed.

This isn’t just a business.

But a little piece of me that I get to pour into something tangible. A reminder that I can be figuring things out, healing, rebuilding, and still make something that brings a little light, comfort, and beauty into someone else’s space.

So yeah…I’m just cleaning off a candle jar.

But for me, it’s a reminder that even while I’m putting something together, I’m learning how to put myself back together, too.

I’m going to keep showing up for my business, even on the days when it feels like nobody is watching.

Even if I’m posting videos such as this one, in hopes of getting in front of those that are meant to see me.

As long as I keep going, I know that my community will follow.

Don’t shoot the messenger!

I’m just passing the message along in case you wanted to know.

She also said, ā€œI love the fact that they’re made with clean ingredients. So clean that I could use it as a body mist, and the scent lasts for hours with only a few sprays.

Who’s she you asked? Oh, she is ME 🤭. I’m just speaking things into existence over here.

Here are the scent notes of the Core Collection:

Negroni Nights

Tea Parlor

I love my business REAL BAD! Sweet Redolence really is my soulmate (don’t act like ya’ll see us being all lovey dovey on FaceTime). Through every high, every low, every doubt, and every comeback. Somehow, we keep choosing each other. I’m lucky to have her, and I think she’s pretty lucky to have me too.

Oh! And the Core Collection?!

Yeah…y’all are about to form some serious soul ties. šŸ˜©šŸ˜‚ All seven scents are TO DIE FOR, but Sunlit Simmon is one of my absolute FAVES. I cannot wait to release this collection so you guys could experience them for yourselves.

Are you one of the lucky ones to have met your soulmate too?

I almost let someone else’s words become my truth.

I was told that Sweet Redolence wouldn’t amount to anything. And hearing those words during some of my darkest moments made them stick with me longer than I’d like to admit.

Suddenly, their voice became mine. Am I good enough? Will the right people find me and support me? Can what I’m creating actually make a difference?

That’s the part of verbal abuse people don’t always talk about. The words may stop, but the damage can linger — and for a while, I allowed that doubt to make me question a dream I once believed in wholeheartedly.

Not anymore.

I’m finding my way back to the woman who believed in this before anyone else had a reason to.

I’m coming back stronger. More protective of my dream. And much more careful about whose voice I allow to become louder than my own.

Will you see me post every single day? Probably not. I’m still learning that chasing a dream should never require sacrificing my mental well-being to prove how badly I want it. Some days I’ll create. Some days I’ll show up here. And some days, taking care of myself will be the work.

So, to those who continue to stick around, support Sweet Redolence, share my work, purchase something I created, leave a kind word, or simply watch this little dream grow — thank you.

I don’t know exactly how far this dream will take me.

But this time, I’m going to give myself the chance to find out.

To keep it real…

I almost threw these labels away. 😭

I designed them myself and made sure everything was perfectly centered on the template. But because my printer ran out of ink, I went to get them printed at Staples.

Did just that and BOOM…they were off-centered.

The perfectionist in me was extremely ANNOYED. Like, ā€œI know I centered this! The center guides told me so.ā€

I instantly thought, ā€œI cannot put these on my products.ā€

But here’s the thing…creating isn’t cheap. The time, energy, money, and love that goes into bringing an idea to life adds up. So instead of throwing them away, I had to be okay with the imperfection.

And somewhere in my little label disaster, I got hit with a message:

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Or better yet, It’s not always about what’s on the outside, but what’s on the inside.

The labels may be a little off-center, but what’s inside hasn’t changed. The wax melts still smell just as beautiful. They’re still made with clean and safe ingredients, and they can still bring joy, comfort, or give your mind a little place to escape.

Eventually, the labels will probably end up in the trash anyway.

But the scent? The feeling? The memory created?

That’s what stays.

Maybe I needed that reminder for more than just labels.

And maybe somebody reading this needed it too.

Sometimes things can not be exactly as you want and still be beautiful.

Sometimes I sit back in awe while looking at what my own two hands have created.

Taking what seems like nothing and transforming it into something that brings comfort, joy, and uplifts your spirit means the world to me. It’s more than just creating—it’s my purpose. It’s the part of me that feels most alive.

If something I’ve created has ever made your day a little brighter, then I’m doing exactly what I set out to do.

And if you’ve experienced any of my products, I’d love to hear from you. Your words mean more to me than you’ll ever know šŸ«¶šŸ½.
