Camping Season is in Full Swing! I’m a big fan of all sorts of blades and multitools - here are my current favorites to have along on a camping trip: the SlicKnives Kepper 5, the FlicKnives Pocket 3.5 (never leave home without it), the SAK Work Champ, the SAK Evolution S101 (especially, that small clip point blade!), the Rebar, and the bullet proof PH-55 heavy duty scissors. When you go camping, what cutting tools do you like having along for the ride?

That sounds like an amazing day, Survival Lore - thank you for taking the Kepper 5 along for the ride!

Spent some time in the woods yesterday with my daughter Carly doing a little foraging and came across a beautiful flush of fresh Shaggy Mane mushrooms. There’s something special about moments like that walking the trails together, slowing down enough to notice what most people pass right by, and bringing a little bit of the woods back home with us.

Once we got home, the Shaggy Manes went straight into the dehydrator before they could start turning to ink. Nature doesn’t wait long with those ones.

And before anyone points it out yeah, the book is opened to the wrong page. Carly borrowed my knife for something and when she put it back I didn’t realize it had been flipped over to Deer Mushrooms instead of the Shaggy Mane page. Real life in the woods isn’t always perfectly staged, and honestly I kind of like it that way.

Just good time outdoors, learning together, and making memories one walk at a time.
