I didn’t have South Dakota on my travel list until last month! But while planning a trip for the 4th, I was in the mood to see wildlife, but not in the mood to deal with the crowds at the national parks in Wyoming/Montana. That’s when I learned about South Dakota’s Wildlife Loop, and I was like BOOK IT✔️

It turned out to be the most random, relaxing, bison-filled trip. We did all the scenic drives, watched the city’s firework shows from our quiet hotel window, tried all the cafes (and some bars), checked off wildlife I’d never seen before, including prairie dogs, rare black-footed ferrets, and a rarer albino deer. South Dakota was a good one.🦬
