Scarlet Badis are one of those fish that you may overlook in the store. It's easy to see a picture online of them and think it's edited because they rarely look that colorful in sales tanks.

Females are hard to come by, and males are territorial with each other, so you often don't get to see their true color potential until you get one home.

We recently added one to each of our plant systems just to be able to show off how colorful these micro predators become once given adequate space.

We are frequently asked about the bright school of orange-red fish in one of our plant systems: they're Ember Tetras.

Hobbyists are often shocked by how intense their color is compared to the ones usually seen for sale. That is one of the reasons why tank size and design, proper schooling numbers and high-quality nutrition are so important to us. When a fish is comfortable in their environment, their colors and natural behaviors will really shine through!
