Established in late 2012, Moonrise Distillery is located in the foothills of the Southern Appalachian mountains as you enter the City of Clayton in Rabun County, Georgia. This location was chosen for its rich moonshining history and

to compliment the local area by providing jobs, promoting local history and tourism trade to people traveling through this area. At Moonrise Distillery, we produce high quality Whiskey, Bourbon and fruit Brandies, with all ingredients coming from local farmers and sources. By following this concept it is our goal to make a positive impact on the local economy. We currently custom manufacture small batch products for other distilleries as well as barrel age and store our own products.

Another amazing Tuesday at Moonrise Distillery filled with games and line dance instruction. Thanks to all that came out and join us every Tuesday from 6:30-8:30. On our current pace we may be sending some guests to the professional dart, ping pong, shuffleboard and corn hole leagues. Of course it all ends with a 1920s cocktail in the speakeasy ( if you know how to find it.. wink)

Ever wonder what goes into every batch of Georgia Grown ultra premium craft bourbon whiskey? Every day over 1,200 pounds of local grains are processed. Somewhere between six and twelve years later that batch will be bottled and consumed by you. We use the best ingredients, local wherever possible. We apply traditional tradecraft without compromise to produce the best spirits possible for you.
