Finally finished two fall wreaths and I told you that the finishing of the doilies, lace and ribbons always take longer. Choosing the perfect ribbons and lace is always the hardest part. Now onto my next project.
The Mister and I are still sorting, organizing and purging and he said today that it’s actually going well. We have a system. I bring him the “stuff” he sorts, tells stories and organizes while we talk. I forgot to take pictures; but, I’m going to start doing that just so I have proof how much we get done.
The weather is usually perfect for us to work in the morning; but, today was a hot and sweaty day. Good thing I had an appointment to get my hair cut and was pampered by Julie. Then another friend Yojo dropped off some wonderful tomatoes that she talked about having the day before. Tomato sandwiches. It’s a summer tradition.
Growing up we had a garden. Potatoes. Tomatoes. Cucumber. Corn. Onions. Probably a lot more; but, I just remember the smell of a fresh tomato from the garden. My mother was always having a sandwich from a tomato, cucumber or even onions. That’s going to be my lunch and possibly dinner tomorrow.
I can feel the weather changing each day. It seems that summer is willingly letting go; but, then we get temperatures in the mid 80’s. Our garden is in full last blooms of summer and I refuse to buy any mums this year. They never do well for me.
I did find the perfect plants for the porches Begonias and ferns. Two were a present from my daughter Kimberly and the other two were clearance at Lowe’s. Red for the front porch and yellow for the back porch. It’s time to start cutting back all my perennials and that will definitely make it feel like Fall.
I found my joy helping the Mister organize his stuff. It’s always easier doing someone else’s purging than my own. But; my other project is utilizing a lot of my treasures and that makes me feel good.
