Join us the first Friday of each month to read Shakespeare aloud with other members of the community. This is a free event, but limited to 8 seats. Sign up ahead of time each month by messaging us on social media, calling us at (423) 464-5013, or emailing us at [email protected]. We may have copies of the play in stock for the readings, but bring your own copy if you have one just in case. The play for September 4th is “Coriolanus.” The bookstore will remain open to the public during these events.

Attention all Lee University faculty and staff: a very generous patron of Inklings has purchased a gift card to be used for a coffee or tea on them for any Lee faculty and staff. Stop in to get a drink before the gift card runs out. Spread the word to any Lee staffers you know!

Looking for a book? We can try to find it for you! It took us a few months, but we were able to find a used hardcover Silmarillion for a customer. She was thrilled for our call, and we were delighted to be able to help. Let us know if we can look for a book for you!

✨STAFF PICK✨
“The Little Prince” is one of my favorite books, and it is a story loved by people of all ages. This book was recommended to me years ago by an old friend. I became endeared to the character of the little prince from the very beginning of the story - how he interacts with those around him, and his innocent curiosity and wonder. As CS Lewis said, “A children’s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children’s story in the slightest.” Considered a children’s book, “The Little Prince” crosses the age barrier by appealing to the kid in all of us, even the parts we’ve forgotten about. This story discusses topics that are difficult to broach, including loss. It demonstrates how to love, and how some of the most essential things in life are “invisible to the eye.”
