As excited as we are about the upcoming Apple Festival, it will never be the same without our dear friend and fellow craftsman, Algie Jones. We will miss him terribly, but we stand with Chris Lawson, also our dear friend, to carry on the tradition.

For many years, Algie and Algie's Vintage Birdhouses have been a familiar part of the Georgia Apple Festival - a booth and a friendly face that returning festival-goers have come to know season after season.

As we prepare for this year’s festival, we do so remembering Algie and the many years he spent sharing his craftsmanship with our community.

Though Algie will be deeply missed, Algie's Vintage Birdhouses will continue to be part of the Georgia Apple Festival, with his partner carrying on the tradition they built together.

We are grateful for every festival season Algie shared with us and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His memory will remain a special part of our festival family.

poSSum used the poSSum wagon to get baby girl moved back to Athens today to begin her graduate degree. Of course, her DAWG jug was considered precious cargo. Go DAWGS!!!🐾❤️🐾

We made it… the first glaze firing of 2026 happened in May (okay, so we did slide in at last of the month). We were able to open the kiln yesterday and were pleased with what we found… the pottery is coming to life.

Yes, poSSum is still kicking and finally back in the clay. It’s been an extremely busy spring, but hopefully it’s full steam ahead. Hopefully, our next post will include some brand new glaze fired pieces!

As the gates to the Georgia Apple Festival closed yesterday for this year, we felt nothing but gratitude for getting to connect with so many of our pottery friends and family. We believe that we genuinely have the most wonderful customers in the world. Thank you to so many (not just those pictured). Talking and connecting with you is a joy and a blessing!
