WELL GUYS - THAT'S A WRAP
The store is empty, the signs are down, the curtains are drawn, and OAR is officially closed.
Couple of Things:
1. People have asked me what I am going to do with all the gear we still have. We sold a lot of spring/summer gear over the past few weeks, but after boxing up the leftovers and cramming them into my small storage building at the house alongside hunting and winter gear.............well it's packed to the rafters.
But it's my storage building so I'm not paying rent, it's all secure and in the dry, and I'm running for County Commissioner and have no time to worry about it right now. So that question will remain unanswered for now and that's OK.
2. This is the right decision for me and my family but it does not come without a deep sense of humility and loss.
I have met so many wonderful people from parts close by and from all over the country these past 8+ years. I've gotten to know people I would never have met if not for the store. I've found new hiking, snowshoeing and kayaking buddies. I've watched young children grow up, had deep and personal conversations with so many, listened and learned something new every day.
I am humbled by everyone who embraced OAR and supported us in ways large and small. I will miss you all. God Bless.
